The Jetbook is identical to the Aluratek Libre Pro in hardware and the menus are almost identical, with a few differences: The Jetbook uses up to a 2 Gb SD card, the Libre can use up to a 32 GB card; The Jetbook can be used in several languages and a built in dictionary; the Libre has fewer and no dictionary; The Jetbook uses DRM books from Barnes & Noble, whereas the Libre uses DRM books from Kobo/Sony. Finally, the Libre is considerably cheaper in price.
This is a company with an okay product but they have terrible customer service and a practically nonexistent return policy. If you exchange your product for another one, no matter what happens, you are unable to return it anymore. One of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had - I guess that's how they shave off 10-20 bucks. Just google ectaco reviews and go to epinions.
you say its strong but you dont mention screen strength what if you press really hard on the center of the screen? does it just ripple and return or crack or fail? as thats the most vulnerable part
The comic strip didn't look so bad there, but I'm more curious about how manga (graphic novels) look on it. Isn't there any ability to move around/ zoom on picture-based files?
I just found this on newegg as well, and I'm actually very interested in it. My main usage would be for manga, but books as well.
search for calibre, a nice little program to convert your cbz and cbr manga files to fit in the jetbook. if you have some issues doing that, i would recommend you ask in the mobileread forum.
Thanks! Great review. If it's possible, could you make a quick video response showing the dictionary and english-spanish translation in action? That's a awesome feature too, I think.

Is it back lit or reflective? I thought of getting one of them because a lot of people praised them, bu back lit screens tire me when I read.

I payed $90 at newegg. with discount code. It's very nice device. support many languages. I download Arabic and French books. love it.
I wish it came with rechargeable lithium ion battery.

how is the screen on your eyes?

Just like reading an e-book! No eye strain whatsoever.
Not so good for PDF files-this is only a 5 inch screen.

I wonder how this look for PDF files since I would use it mainly for that. Just wondering how the look and feel of it is.
