  • Are you crazy man..? You want to make a mountain and put a rollercoaster in it? xD

  • The weird thing is that few people know the Disney movie that the Matterhorn is based on.

  • Tolberone ^_^

  • how many stories is teh matterhorn

  • rock candy mountain?

  • 4:11 No offense mickey, you have a bubble but lol

  • I went to the Swiss Alps!

  • On the top of the Matterhorn you can see California Adventure!

  • I have seen a number of these videos now and it seems all the miths are tru

  • Oh swear!!! I didn't know that!

I guess that's where Tinkerbell chills and shoots some hoops before making an appearance at the fireworks show! Haha!

    Dope.

  • my mind has been blown

  • @SarahAnnFrench1

    me too

I'm eight too and im terrifed to go on the matterhorn

    It's too scary

and... I heard a guy was KILLED by the Matterhorn

  • @20firebird Yes a 15 year-old stood up on the ride of matterhorn. If you're not stupid you won't die. Alos a 48 year-old got thrown from their bobsled when their seat belt was unfastened. So, there you go. But, don't be scared the ride is really fun!

  • I love how it says "EMPLOYEES ONLY" at the top of the matterhorn. Like a normal guest is going to climb up there.

  • wow walt disney was a better imagination then me!! and im 12 and he was about 40 in those times....wOW and Basketball court IN A MOUTAIN/rollarcoatser!!!! i wish walt was still alive or could had beed alive longer :(

  • this is kind of disappointing. i was expecting a super fancy full basketball court that's buffed weekly by the senile janitor.

  • Yes there is a basketball court. I have seen it with my own eyes.

  • It's not a basketball court in there... It's a full scale UFO defense station!

  • i am scared to ride matterhor

    n cause im only8

  • my great uncle helped build the matterhorn

  • I saw people climbing it once and I thought they were doing training or something lol I had no clue what was going on

  • i wanna be apart of the disney crew! but like the high rollers ya know? like the big people that work there

  • my teacher used to work at disneyland and he used to play basketball with his friends on the madahorn :)

  • I've played a game at the court once. >:D

  • is the castle thing true?

  • Yes. :)

  • buckethead practices there

  • goofy killing self FTW

  • is this the one in cali

  • yeah

  • i have been to cali

  • Despite all the rumors (that Walt agreed to build a basketball court but didn't say it would be in the shape of a mountain, or that the court was added due to zoning restrictions) it seems the most Cast Member/official park-supported reason is as noted in the video: They had 'mountain climbers' from the start. They wanted something to do up there on breaks. The consensus was: shoot hoops.

  • actually it was because anehjeim didnt have a roller coaster permit so walt put a basketball court in it to get a gym permit and i got to play thrir

  • who plays basketball in there? goofy? xD

  • its actuality at the top of it

  • Wow. I would have thought this was fiction. How interesting.

  • That is cool!

  • Awesome

  • Basically when Walt asked the city of Anaheim whether he could build the Matterhorn structure, they turned him down saying that he couldn't build anything that high, unless it was a sports complex. So he built a basketball court in the Matterhorn, at the bottom.

  • basically, your wrong. its a the top. do you even watch videos on before you comment?

  • fact or fiction. is walt frozen somewhere in the park?

  • nope he was cremaided at the hollywood hills cemetery

  • I thought he was cryogenically frozen? (Seriously. Not trying to be rude or anything.)

  • thats a rumor. i found somewhere that was a legit document stating he was frozen. look it up on google or here. its somewhere :)

  • @guyf666 this rumor is false. Disney was cremated at death and chryogenics were not invented until a month passed from his death. so the "legit" document in question is a legit fake. However the pirates of the carribean ride did use real human remains upon its opening. Bet you didnt know that huh?

  • @img921 no walt disney was cremated and his ashes are at his resting spot. chryogenics wernt invented until a month after his death

  • @AspenAxL Yeah, I just read Disney War by James Stewart and his daughter was explaining that he was cremated. Thanks!

  • nope again... his remains are in forest lawn cemetery in glendale

(i have family buried there too)

  • lol. i never heard that rumer about the basketball court in the matorhorn. I heard a different one. What i heard was that there was a club like a studio 59 club or something up there. but i guess not. lol. also i heard the fire station on mainstreet U.S.A in DL is hunted by Walt Disney because he built a room up there for himself.

  • he built the basket ball court inside matterhorn because he wanted to make another ride to the puplic, but the the ppl who where going to help walt pay for it said no. So walt said the he would build a basketball court, he never said what it was going to look like. So yes there is a basket ball court inside matterhorn.

  • Theres a club 59 in new orleans square right next to the pirates of the carribean ride. Its for exclusive disney members who only get in with a secret passcode. Also the room above the fire station was walts apartment when he stayed at disney. It has been shown from time to time that a lamp light in the window randomly goes on and off. This was reported by the maid who cleans the apartment

  • I heard about the light too. Except i heard it that it was a security guard. he turned it off after he checked out the area, then when he came back he saw that it was on. also there was another story that there was a security guard who stopped working there because there was like 100+ cats all on main street usa, and that freaked him out.

  • @KHearts16 When the magic kingdom was built in anahiem it was built on the orange groves as you probably already know (now days its hard to even tell there was an orange grove there with the mimis cafe and mcdonalds vice versa) there were alot of rats that made their way into the park so disney responded by bringing in alot of cats that they released after hours. now the cats there are feral and most likely descendants of the original cats.

  • @KHearts16 disneyland paris also experianced this problem. I dont know what their action was unfortunatly. Id guess since the park is fairly young Id probably say they called in exterminators..

  • Its club 33 lol. not 59 lol

  • @nym951993

    club 59: fiction

    the rest, don't know

  • @d4m4s74 i never heard of club 59..but club 33 does exist ive seen the door to the club myself. its a little bit to the right of pirates of the carribean. it is a very exlusive club as the waiting list is 5 years to be accepted and annual membership is roughly 10,000 usd. It is also the only place in the whole disneyland park that serves alcoholic beverages. Also club 33 is built on a past portion of the park.

  • @AspenAxL

club 33 is real and at the New Orleans Square. The club near Pirates of the Carribean (club 21 or as nymsomething thought it was 59) does not exist. the building there is an employee lounge

  • club 33****** not 50

  • I ♥ anything Disneyland so this is really interesting!!!

  • What channel is this on?

  • I think this was a dvd because there was a play button at the start.

  • Could the presenters be more repulsive?

  • I'd say only one was.

  • Yeah, no kidding.

  • thats way too close to be supremscream

  • MY...GOD this was TRITE!

  • Wow that's awesome!! I never knew that. Too bad no guests are aloud up there, I LOVE playing basketball and getting to play above the Matterhorn...that would be quite an experience!

  • I thought it was actually on top of the matterhorn. Now I see that it is within the structure of it.

  • U can see California Screamin' and Maliboomer from the top of the mountain.

  • u know what i noticed, walt kinda made all his dreams come true while creating disneyland. like every place he went to visit he would find something he liked and created a replica of it (for example: all the trains and railroads, matterhorn, and club 33)

  • Dont forget the Jungle Cruise.. that was Disney's fav ride!!

  • Great, Make a film with Johnny Depp about a basketball player who ends up going to the Matterhorn and meets the Yeti and teaches the Yeti to play basketball... OOOOOOOhhhhhhh, would that be sweet. Can you smell the money???

    Sorry, Gold has no smell.....

  • i think the Candy Mountain would be sweet! LITERALLY!!! joking.. that was gay O.o XD

  • yep my bad that is the maliboomer because the paradise pier hotel is next to it

  • yes i believe thatz supreme scream cuz one time i was on supreme scream and i saw Disneyland from that spot

  • It's the Maliboomer

  • i loved the matterhorn :)

it was funnn, but i was soo scared i would

    fall off. lol

  • 3:23 California screamin near the mailboomer

  • At 3:22, off in the distance, is that Supreme Scream from Knotts Berry Farm?

  • No, that's the Maliboomer from Disney's California Adventure.

  • No that's california screaming. If you look really closely, you can see the huge mickey on it.

  • ROCK CANDY MOUNTAIN?!

  • Yeah, I read somewhere that Walt wanted to make a "Big Rock Candy Mountain" out of actual candy.

  • Actually, the concept model was made out of candy, lollipops etc.

  • the guest they interview are so anoying sounding....

  • are there more of these besides the utilidors and Walt's Apartment above the firehouse?

  • ah! i mean video shorts like these not b-ball courts. if so i would like to know about it

  • wow

awesome i wannaget to see that someday

oh i remeber seeing mickey and goofy climbing the matterhorn i didnt pay much attention to it though

  • i remember one time that mickey climbed the mountian. We just noticed he was up there after i came from a ride. The strange thing was is that Mickey Fell and I dont remember what happend after that.

  • I would imagine it would be VERY HARD for whoever the cast member inside the Mickey costume to climb wearing those shoes and that big Mickey head.

  • I went on the matterhorn 15 times non stop for a dare it was AWSOME! haha

  • Thats pretty cool... I mean if I was working there on break I'd probably ask one of the furries (XD) wanna play some basketball

  • i thought the basketball court was at the top of the castle not the matterhorn

  • Matterhorn is an awesome ride. i went on it 4 times in a row ^__^

  • @xXxFatalDeathxXx me too!!! one day me and ma mom went for her birthday and we went on like 10 times because she likes that ride

  • thats sick.

  • mickey? daisy dukes? ummm okay?

  • wow

there is a basketball court on the matterhorn

    cool

  • where did you find this

  • When I first heard of the legend I thought it wasn't true, then I watched this and was proved wrong. I was pretty amazaed.

  • It's true! My brother asked one of the workers and she said it's just for the workers to chill out!

  • They should show this on either the Travel Channel or the Discovery Channel. Not many people know about what the Imagineers do.

  • They should run stuff like this on the Disney Channel. It'd be nice if the Disney Channel ran so DISNEY stuff

  • I usually don't like advertising my own videos, but I uploaded one that talks about Disney rides at Disneyland (which also features Tony Baxter), and it originally aired on the Disney Channel a number of years ago. Disney Channel used to show stuff just like this and it was always neat when a special thing like this came on, because they were never part of the regular schedule. I wish the Disney Channels was still worth watching.

  • I remember the days when Disney Channel was actually good! Good times

  • Maria! that's my cousin!!! ^____^

  • when me and my mom went on this we asked if they had a b-ball hoop and they said "yes"

  • Everytime Ive Gone To Disneyland There Has Never Been Anyone Climbing Up The Mountain.

  • Were do they show this show?

  • This show can be found on demand with your cable company (USA) i watch this through time warner cable on demand
