I had two sib dwarfs and my 2 year old cat used to play and cuddle with them. One day she just grabbed one and took off running. I was able to chase my cat down on the stairs and the hamster was fine. I think animals can get along to a certain point until their instincts kick in. It can be really anything that triggers it.

Hey theyre, I have a question regarding my own dwarf hamsters it would be greatly appreciated if you could answer, so; I have two dwarf hamsters and as far as i am aware they are both male and around 2-3 years old. However recently one of the hamsters has seemingly been bullying the other causing it to move out of the bedding house. They always seem to be fighting and i fear one may end up killing the other. Is this unusual, and should i split them up?

its very normal for male hamsters (russian or syrian) to fight, its a male instinct. unless they are seriously injuring one another, there should be no reason to split them up :) things to look for would be sores, bleeding spots, torn ears (that seems to be more prevalent), and total death of hamster.
