As an African American who graduated from a black University I saw first hand how little black people actually know and understand about the government. @nakedyoga420 Even if he really wanted to make the change it would take a real battle and would be very difficult due to the hidden (and so hidden) corporate powers that exist. Plus he doesn't want to die (I can imagine he has some photos of the presidents and activists murdered to this day just to remind himself where his true limits are and what you can't sadly do in America, even if tis supposed to be "the land of freedom". One man isn't enough to make a real change.

This is a great speech, but everyone shd also know that Dr. West is NOW taking the correct and intelligent view that more pressure needs to be placed on Pres. Obama to do something BIG to help black and other poor people NOW. Black people need a jobs programs (over 16 % unemplyment) and also an income subsidy program. I live in Brooklyn and I go to school with many many blacks. They are well educated and have NO Problem finding a job. But on my way home we usually have to go past a high school which happens to majority black. I see how most o these kids behave and I as well as the well educated blacks from Brooklyn agree they have no future. You chose your own path my friend. me and my friends (Hispanic and black) grew up in bushwick and we stayed away from the negativity and progressed!

@MikeTysonEatsKids yes you do chose your own future but why is it that the school with majority black students is the bad one...why do those students have no future.. its because that school doesn't have the resources your school has..that's probably in an impoverished neighborhood... the classes are well overcapacity... the teachers are mostly likely doing the bear minimum and the state or city government knows of the state of this school and lets it continue down that path...
