you see this is one reason she won.... yea of course she has an incredible voice but when the judges bagged on her and brought her down she brushed it right off and probably said "hey well ill take this into consideration next time" not everyone can stand there while all 3 judges bagg on her and say "ok thats alright" carrie is such an inspiration to anyone who wnats to get somewhere with music... she came from a small town iun oklahoma and look where she is now... love this performance and her

this is my favorite performance from her on idol so far I love how the whole audiance was clapping their hands cause everyone loved it while the judges hated it

WTF JUDGES?!?!? I knwoow I have commented on this before and I only came back to see if I could find something wrong with the performance this time and I was once again completely blown away! What were those judges on that day? Everybody in the audience started giving her a standing ovation while she was still singing the song and then leave it those judges to kill all the buzz. This has been on repeat for over an hour and I've got ears too, I'm still waiting for her blow my roof off! ;-)

I couldn't agree more with all you guys, Carrie is amazing!!!!!!!! I was a huge fan of hers since her audition. She has amazing vocals and a very sweet and loving personality and attitude. I was lucky enough to see her on the today show and she was awesome!!!!!!! I actually think I like her version better!!!!! LOL I am soooo glad she sang it. wow....i must have really bad hearing or something because i thought that was great! i can only dream of singing half as good as her. Carrie rocks! i'm so glad she won. the judges that day were a bit..out of it i guess o__O and look at all the fans she already had xD

Wtf Simon! I thought she did it amazingly, sometimes the judges really confuse me, I really don't understand what Simon was hearing when he made those comments! Thank God the American public knew better and voted her through. :)

Most of the time I end up agreeing with Simon but this time he could not have been more wrong! Yes, the band was nothing short of horrendous but Carrie's vocals shone as usual and those were some pretty serious notes at the end and after all who are the judges to say she was a mess she got a standing ovation even back then! I guess everybody's got their favorite song they oppose the idea of other artists singing! Now who's the venerated singer now Jury? She even owned a cheesy song like this!
