i love savage and i don't blame savage for what he did here.in the story he had been black balled by wcw.so he joined them if only to gain control so to say of the nwo. i didn't like it but it goes back to that old saying "if you can't beat them,join them",and savage took a lot of beatings by the nwo.i always hated hogan even when i was a kid.

Blame Hogan, blame the ref for not playing it off well enough, and even blame piper for not positioning Hogan close enough to the ropes to make it believable. Aside from them blame whoever booked this finish. Also blame the anounce team for not calling it right. At no time did they respond to Hogan's legs being pulled under the ropes by Savage. A blind man could see Hogan was a mile awy from the ropes. This was one of the first nails in WCW's coffin..

@garymaster42 hey they did take the top spot in the ratings but if u look at how long they lasted it wasnt very long compared to wwe bichoff took over in 94 and then wcw ended in 2000 thats only 6 years while wwf/e been around now for what 50-60 years in the short run hogan and bischoff did great the long run they failed badly thats all im saying

@lordmobius420 Well, it wasn't all them because Bischoff was let go for a bit and Russo came in. Bischoff did come back but the product was so bad then that they couldn't recover. Whether WWF won the wars or not, you have to give credit to WCW for what the contributed to the business. They did weekly live TV and monthly ppvs (among other things) before WWF even thought of it.

I only remember seeing Taz suplex Sabu through a table one time when they showed ECW on some Sunshine or Sundance channel or some weird thing on Dish Network. :(

Macho Man joining was just stupid. They needed more top faces to battle the NWO and especially Hogan. By turning everyone to the NWO, it just got stupid. This is actually the beginning of the WCW turning a little crappy.

The fans still cared about the NWO storyline as it would be another year or longer before WWE even started to take the ratings back, and the crowd may have been dead here, but there were PLENTY of instances over the next couple of years of the crowd going apeshit. The wcw crowds didn't turn to total shit until about late 99 or early 2000.
