The west is playing georgians against the russians in a classic divide and prevail policy. georgians should not get carried away by western media and attack russians and russia should refrain from using excessive force to defend themselves. The west is trying to divide large countries like Russia. western thinking towards russia was bluntly described by Hitler but the west has failed to conceal its real intentions towards Russia despite numerous attempts by its media.
USA bombed Serbia March 24 1999 - for 78 days B-2 and B-52 bombers USED imagine that how much threat was Serbia to USA. Do not give me GENOCIDE story lie created by USA media masters. Save my nerves.

Yeah Ralph its all our fault. No wonder you only got about 600,000 votes with comments like this one and claiming that George Bush was going to cancel the 2008 election.
NetsFan2k --- THEY lied NON -STOP to demonize Serbian PEOPLE ,,, in Yugoslavia ,,, THEY were putting propaganda that Yugoslavia broke because Serbians wanted to kill everyone in Yugoslavia ,, THAT is what American view on the subject is.
You are no Russian, you should be shot. Georgia attacked our own brothers and sisters and began to bring NATO into this. You are no RussianPatriot, you are fake.
Go watch the whole movie. I have a video of a Georgian soldier shooting a 97 year old point blank in Ossetia for no reason. Would you want to see it? Go on google and find it.
Wow someone running for President that has the ability to empathize with other nations, thats a first. Unfortunately looks like he will never get elected with that attitude.
Ralph Nader is an awesome person for lack of a better word...
I would love for him to be in power but people right we have to focus on getting Bush's little war hungry buddy Mr. McCain ... We have to get together and vote for Obama/Biden to lead the way for people like Nader or Hillary to take America into the righteous steps of democracy ..
Bush is constricting people like Nader and now they thought they would have a clear way by squeezing Hillary out with OBAMA
If you want to take the country back to Democracy then vote for Nader or other third-party candidate now. If you vote for the lesser evil then in 4 years you'll have another greater evil to vote against, and in 4 more years you'll have yet another greater evil, and so ad infinitum. You will never get to vote for the good guys.
Imagine U.S.A. with Ralph Nader President. A big effect of Peace, Reason, Understanding and mutual Respect in the world. This seems to be too good to become true. But it's nice to know that there still some rational, just, and reasonable people in this country.
Ralph Nader is a 100 percent trustable person, and I am sure that this is what any foreign leader will feel about him. Added respect, and admiration for his courage and honesty.
It seems like the only person saying Georgia was making trouble in the autonomous regions was Nader. The ENTIRE US press-core blamed Russia for everything.
Yes, why the hell are we always trying to be the policemen of the world? Because we're a military governement, the war profiteers need permanent war to make money.
The fact is that Russian 'peace keepers' came in as Georgian troops fired on their own civilians in Georgian border towns with US support during the opening of the Olympics, used as a smoke screen. Ask the US citizens caught in the onslaught who it was that saved them... The Russian peace keepers. The Bush regime is pushing this agenda, via the Poland nuclear missile base, to force a world war with Russia, that will inevitably pull in Iran and China. Get the facts jack. It's plain to see...
Clueless. Unlike the Warsaw Pact days, no one forced Romania or Hungary to join NATO, they asked to join, as democratic countries. Many had referendums on the issue. Secondly, Russia provoked this war, and so to say "let them do it, they are geographically closer so they have the right to do anything in their own backyard" is insane.
It absolutely did. It has been preparing for this war for months, fixing up a railway in Abkhazia and moving in its troops, and allowing its puppet regime in South Ossetia to fire upon Georgian villages prior to Saakashvili's debatable decision to counter-attack. The 2000 casualties in S.O. proved to be a fake, and there are likely still Georgians being ethnically cleansed there.
Once you say it, you should prove it. Where is any RELIABLE information of the "puppet regime in South Ossetia firing upon Georgian villages prior to Saakashvili's debatable decision"???
This is horseshit, coming out of someone's hallucinations.
The 2000 casualties in S.O. proved to be a fake, over 1000 casualties proved to be true. Isn't that enough?
>>there are likely still Georgians being ethnically cleansed there
yeah, yeah. And G. W. Bush is LIKELY to eat muslim babies at night
You cannot rule out this high possibility - America claims that it wants Georgia to join NATO, and Georgia certainly seem keen to join. However, under the regulations of the NATO Treaty, a potential member state must have security over its borders and be geographically sound. We cannot rule out the possibility that America, using this NATO thing as a smokescreen, persuaded Georgia to invade South Ossetia in order to provoke a Russian response...
That's exactly what it did, and the Western media, particularly in the United States, carefully and systematically used the situation to show Russia in a negative light and to show the world that America is not the only Imperialistic nation in the world, going around and bullying other nations into submission. Georgia invaded South Ossetia during a ceasefire, and unprovoked, killing thousands of innocent civilians (many of them Russian citizens officially). This is the sad truth
Firstly, the killing of thousands of civilians is a bald-faced lie, propaganda which has not been proven. On the contrary, HRW and others indicated that the number of victims is less than 100. There could be more victims in the surrounding Georgian villages. Georgia had its villages and military positions fired upon prior to its decision to attack. Russia planned this war and used the attack on Tskhinvali as pretext to military aggression.
So how do you explain the 2,000 dead (missing) South Ossetians on the very day of the Georgian assault. Less than 100?! Get real. Georgian military strongholds were attacked in retaliation to unprovoked assault and attempted capture of South Ossetia. America planned this war, alongside the Georgians, in order to provoke the Russians into action and to use propaganda to portray the Russians as the aggressor. America succeeding in doing so, and clearly have got you hooked
HRW is a respected international NGO. Let's see, who would I trust, Russian propaganda or an independent organization that hasn't exactly had a reputation for denying genocide...
You are idiotic. Ok, so your the person who will support a racist President of Georgia Sack-of-shit-villi when he began to bomb places in South Ossetia what he knew has a mass population of that region was Russian? Let's say Mexico began to bomb cities what had a mass population of Americans and began to kill thousands, your telling me that America wouldn't send troops in there? Stop listening to CNN and learn the truth. Russia went in to help their citizens, you ignorant bastard.
1. All that stuff about thousands dead is complete bullshit. See for example the Wikipedia article on the war. It's all a product of Russia's sick fascist propaganda machine.
2. I don't defend Saakashvili, he messed up and the war is partially his fault. This does not negate the fact that Russia is also the aggressor here. As for its "citizens", that's all politics. They've been given passports in the last few years precisely because then Russia would have a convenient excuse to invade.
Wikipedia? Do you know that is fake? Our propaganda machine? Is that why Saakashvili attacked our people, and plead for mercy and help from NATO when Russia attacked back. I am very respectful actually, I respect peoples beliefs and views, but when someone is wrong like you were in information, I corrected you.
3 (and most importantly). You are brainwashed and disrespectful, likely a teenager, so don't think I'm replying only to you. It's mostly for anyone else who happens to watch the videos and delude themselves with a thought that Ralph Nader actually knows something about foreign policy.
OK, I googled and had thought you must have only chosen MSM info., but instead the top five choices absolutely reported 2000+ deaths....try "2000 georgia"
that's the whole fucking point... 1600 was the initial Russian reporting (there wasn't anybody except the Russian Media in the beginning, Russians were hunting down Western journalists, at least 3 have died)
So the MSM had been reporting 1600-2000+ for weeks!! But Human Rights Watch reported 44 fatalities, later Russia officially acknowledged 133 (including Ossetian militia members, I suppose)
Yes, I said google, but obviously use your brains too.
and when I say "that's the whole fucking point", I mean, who wants an American presidential candidate who cites outdated Russian propaganda as an argument?! Who funds this guy??
it was a joke in response to the previous poster who seemed to be absurdly insinuating that Nader was being funded by some special interest;) I don't currently fund anyone, but will probably vote for nader.
OK, I googled again about the Hungary f-16's: Hungarian Defense Minister Janos Szabo said Friday that Hungary would buy 24 used F-16 fighter planes from the United States to replace its Mig-29s now in ....".....(Oh yeah, it's NADER who doesn't know sh-- about the world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Even Colin Powell just acknowledged today on CNN that Georgia provoked Russia by its invasion, when the media and this administration has repeatedly emphasized Russian aggression.
This man speaks sense, he is looking at this situation with a level head. This is one of the reasons i want Obama to win, he would view foreign policy issues with a more level headed two sided approach, that the way to ensure peace, diplomacy. Bug respect to Ralph and lets hope Obama wins. Peace

i'm glad ron paul told his supporters to say no to both parties. i love to see republicans jumping off the fascism bandwagon...
the dems are trying to play catch up to the neocons and have been since they started accepting corporate donations in the 80's. you would say 'love it or leave it', i say 'we need to throw fascists like you out and protect our constitution'...
you better hope only 40% of america votes, your evil way of life is at stake! don't worry you'll be with hitler soon enough!
Ron Paul is the most decent man of our time. He speaks for our founding fathers who must be rolling in their graves. America was founded upon what is called "Classical Liberalism", and is lasted a generation.
The world just won't be governed that way. The human heart is too wicked. So, we ended up doing things that made America #1, and we must do things to remain #1.
In a world of evil men, Americans do ok with what we've built. All in all we are a force of good if there is such a thing.
So, Ralph Nader sides with the Russians - what a SHOCK!
And this pussy thinks the UN will solve the problem. Get a fucking clue. It is America and our allies who have every reason to fear Russia. Look what they've done in the past.
The break-away republics need us to secure them, because RUSSIA WANTS THEM ALL BACK.
Dumb, commie-lib fucks. Why do I even bother? Nader is totally Marginalized and REJECTED by the American people. REJECTED REJECTED!!
Nader dropped the ball. He is tip toeing around the Georgia situation, he needs to saddle up and tell it like it really is. US & Israel are provoking Russia just like they are provoking Iran. It is what it is, so say it straight up front.
Actually, Georgia is an ally of the U.S.(so is Israel--which is another story), and Georgia, Russia, and South Ossetia's relationship is intricate: South Ossetia and Georgia have had a tense relationship since breaking from Russia; South Ossetia has a healthy Russian population, which seems to give Russia sympathy (or oppurtunity to garner paternal privelage?) toward South Ossetia. Georgia was not the instigator, there were attacks going back and forth before Georgia crossed into South Ossetia.
When you refer to Georgia and Israel as an ally, the question is an ally for what? An ally against Palestine and Russia is how it's interpreted, as sending military aid to both those countries has been knowingly or unknowingly exploited against those citizens. Similarly other Arab countries & Russia itself engage in these games of funding military aid to foreign countries & fanctions against US etc.
Real diplomacy means you need to be neutral, otherwise it's just surface talk.
I like Nader's perspective... but isn't he echoing Obama's ideal of diplomacy? Are they not in sync? But Nader takes war completely off the table, no? I know Nader doesn't want to go into Pakistan, right? Al-Quaeda is a terrorist organization that attacked America--how does Nader respond to Al-Quaeda after America having been attacked?
No because diplomacy involves being an honest broker, not taking sides by finacially funding 1 country weapons and then claiming neutrallity in words.
Obama supports funding Georgia ( a place that happens to have an oil pipe line) military & humantarian aid against Russia even though it was Georgia that provoked the conflict.
Obama also supports annual military aid to Israel which is being used to illegally ocupy Palestine.
That is fueling the conflict not resolving it, unlike Nader.
If you want to destabilize Pakistan, go right ahead; it's happening already. Pakistan is cracking down on militants killing tribal leaders; we're violating the sovereignty of Pakistan--flying our planes in there airspace--and commiting war crimes--killing children, destroying households, regularly.
The real problem is Pakistan is sending troops into an autonomous region of their country; we don't want US troops there, either. This region is on the brink, towards alligning itself with the Taliban and, to some extent Al-Qaeda. The region itself is similar to Ossetia in Georgia--you know what a mess that was.
Great analogy! But yes, I forget who it was (some organization high up) that concurred that provincial policing was the BEST and most effective solution. While this is true, I don't see a probelm with the United Nations synchonizing an effort to remove Al-Quaeda opperations(including the U.N. AIDING Pakistan in their efforts), as Al-Quaeda IS an international terrorist organization. What do you think?
Well, I think NATO, if we contributed more, could do more, but I'm wary of seeing any future gains from uprooting a few militants out of largely independent villiage communities, at the cost of those village communities. The Taliban are killing people left and right in Pakistan, I think Pakistan should arm the provinces rather than send there military in full-force.
I think America should stay out. Whenever we bomb a target there is always collateral damage, most of the time we do more damage than the militants. It would be better if our goal were to eliminate radicalism when asked for assistance, but to not encourage new forms of radicalism by making someone else's problem our business. If it's not the Taliban, we'll want to get rid of someone else in the world, at an enormous cost to our standing in the world.
p.1)You agree with me then,on a united effort to remove Al-Qaeda. You seem wary of strategy, as you should be: when bombing is appropriate, the balance of provincial policing to NATO ground forces--all these decisions hinge on good leadership on the ground & in the whitehouse. The Bush admin.'s radicalism formed out of the same stuff that Al-Qaeda's did: fear, & manipulation of fear to control. In Saudi A., 10% have a favorable view of Al-Qaeda. That's lower than U.S approval of Dick Cheney(18%)
(p.2)Since the start of the nuclear age, human survival has depended on international diplomacy. The Bush-McCain admin. might lead us into WWIII if the nation-building (with more destruction than building) continues, but the U.S. has hope of elections. There are no elections with Al-Qaeda. They will persist, unless SOMETHING is done. Their demands are unnegotiable and have tend to multiply.
(p.3)A straight declarative refusal of Al-Qaeda's extreme demands should be the U.S.' negotiation w/ Al-Qaeda. We can tap into that international diplomacy we all hinge on, to unite the world against this mutual threat of ours with that shrewd, cautious strategy that requires good leadership. -- Btw, arming the provinces was how Al-Qaeda initially formed.
Georgia has a PIPELINE now too! Guess who put it there?! It's all about fosil fuels yet again!
Nader knows this. The pipeline was built years ago & was a poke in the eye for Russia.
Also putting missile systems in Georgia & in Poland is only going to ratchet up the old cold war BS again (now that the 'terrorism' thing has played its part and brought in laws against THE PEOPLE!). Its like if Russia was to site missile systems in CUBA... remember anyone?
If you listen to NPR and you want to help promote the third parties' message, ask NPR to provide more coverage for third party candidates because apparently they think they are providing enough coverage to them. See: npr(dot)org/ombudsman/2008/07/covering_thirdparty_candidates.html
there still are some honest people left in this country. The whole time we were the aggressors in the world. Provoking people and they mocking there response. I have great respect for Russia. I have no respect for the United States Bush administration and the greedy ignorant boils they have raised who spew there filth as if someone is still listening to them. Poland is a disgrace as it has always been, drunken clowns.
Nader is intelligent, and I feel that he is very correct in his point about the conflict. But, on a more personal note, by calling my people "a disgrace" and "drunken clowns," you exemplify to the world that you are a biggotted, ignorant cunt. Read a book.
They are a disgrace I know because I'm Polish. I read more books than you could possibly imagine, it is just another form of mind control. Polish people are good natured but ignorant and very impressionable. Perhaps my comments are a little over the top, but it's like that when it's personal and you have suffered for the igonrance of others. Alcholism is the biggest problem in the world and has been for some time. Sounds like you indulge a bit yourself, by your language and predictability.
Nader's total today is the highest since I started tracking back when he was at 1200. This corresponds to the Jesse Ventura video put up 20 hours ago which already has 5,599 hits.
We already know how America would react if the Russians were placing weapons and forming military alliances on the doorstep of US. It was the Cuban Missile Crisis that brought the world to brink ofnuclear war.
There is no reason for the NATO unconditional military alliance to even exist after the Cold War, and no reason for military presence and weapons on the Russians doorstep to provoke war.
Damn! If only more people were provided access to Nader's views/positions via mainstream media we would have a real competitive race going here people. But the two parties threaten the media against doing so. Therefore, the American electorate remains brainwashed and ignorant. "Land of the free", my ass!!!
That's Ralph Nader for ya. I've been a supporter of his since 2004. He, and a lot of the other third party candidates tell it like it is to the point that it becomes frightening. Why? We're so used to the stale, rotting, two-party system, status-quo-upholding professional liars being dishonest, flattering, beating around the bush, and pushing all this bullshit spin, that we stare in amazement at someone like Nader. Shouldn't it be the other way around?
The west is playing georgians against the russians in a classic divide and prevail policy. georgians should not get carried away by western media and attack russians and russia should refrain from using excessive force to defend themselves.

Endza50 3 years ago 3
Actually, Georgia is an ally of the U.S.(so is Israel--which is another story), and Georgia, Russia, and South Ossetia's relationship is intricate: South Ossetia and Georgia have had a tense relationship since breaking from Russia; South Ossetia has a healthy Russian population, which seems to give Russia sympathy (or oppurtunity to garner paternal privelage?) toward South Ossetia. Georgia was not the instigator, there were attacks going back and forth before Georgia crossed into South Ossetia.
AllySmells001 3 years ago
When you refer to Georgia and Israel as an ally, the question is an ally for what? An ally against Palestine and Russia is how it's interpreted, as sending military aid to both those countries has been knowingly or unknowingly exploited against those citizens. Similarly other Arab countries & Russia itself engage in these games of funding military aid to foreign countries & fanctions against US etc.
Real diplomacy means you need to be neutral, otherwise it's just surface talk.
0613162k 3 years ago
I like Nader's perspective... but isn't he echoing Obama's ideal of diplomacy? Are they not in sync? But Nader takes war completely off the table, no? I know Nader doesn't want to go into Pakistan, right? Al-Quaeda is a terrorist organization that attacked America--how does Nader respond to Al-Quaeda after America having been attacked?
AllySmells001 3 years ago
No because diplomacy involves being an honest broker, not taking sides by finacially funding 1 country weapons and then claiming neutrallity in words.
Obama supports funding Georgia ( a place that happens to have an oil pipe line) military & humantarian aid against Russia even though it was Georgia that provoked the conflict.
Obama also supports annual military aid to Israel which is being used to illegally ocupy Palestine.
That is fueling the conflict not resolving it, unlike Nader.
0613162k 3 years ago
If you want to destabilize Pakistan, go right ahead; it's happening already. Pakistan is cracking down on militants killing tribal leaders; we're violating the sovereignty of Pakistan--flying our planes in there airspace--and commiting war crimes--killing children, destroying households, regularly.
wingatei 3 years ago
The real problem is Pakistan is sending troops into an autonomous region of their country; we don't want US troops there, either. This region is on the brink, towards alligning itself with the Taliban and, to some extent Al-Qaeda. The region itself is similar to Ossetia in Georgia--you know what a mess that was.
wingatei 3 years ago
Great analogy! But yes, I forget who it was (some organization high up) that concurred that provincial policing was the BEST and most effective solution. While this is true, I don't see a probelm with the United Nations synchonizing an effort to remove Al-Quaeda opperations(including the U.N. AIDING Pakistan in their efforts), as Al-Quaeda IS an international terrorist organization. What do you think?
AllySmells001 3 years ago
Well, I think NATO, if we contributed more, could do more, but I'm wary of seeing any future gains from uprooting a few militants out of largely independent villiage communities, at the cost of those village communities. The Taliban are killing people left and right in Pakistan, I think Pakistan should arm the provinces rather than send there military in full-force.
wingatei 3 years ago
I think America should stay out. Whenever we bomb a target there is always collateral damage, most of the time we do more damage than the militants. It would be better if our goal were to eliminate radicalism when asked for assistance, but to not encourage new forms of radicalism by making someone else's problem our business. If it's not the Taliban, we'll want to get rid of someone else in the world, at an enormous cost to our standing in the world.
wingatei 3 years ago
p.1)You agree with me then,on a united effort to remove Al-Qaeda.
AllySmells001 3 years ago
(p.2)Since the start of the nuclear age, human survival has depended on international diplomacy. The Bush-McCain admin. might lead us into WWIII if the nation-building (with more destruction than building) continues, but the U.S. has hope of elections. There are no elections with Al-Qaeda. They will persist, unless SOMETHING is done. Their demands are unnegotiable and have tend to multiply.
AllySmells001 3 years ago
(p.3)A straight declarative refusal of Al-Qaeda's extreme demands should be the U.S.' negotiation w/ Al-Qaeda. We can tap into that international diplomacy we all hinge on, to unite the world against this mutual threat of ours with that shrewd, cautious strategy that requires good leadership. -- Btw, arming the provinces was how Al-Qaeda initially formed.
AllySmells001 3 years ago
Georgia has a PIPELINE now too! Guess who put it there?! It's all about fosil fuels yet again!
Nader knows this. The pipeline was built years ago & was a poke in the eye for Russia.
Also putting missile systems in Georgia & in Poland is only going to ratchet up the old cold war BS again (now that the 'terrorism' thing has played its part and brought in laws against THE PEOPLE!). Its like if Russia was to site missile systems in CUBA... remember anyone?

I have no respect for the United States Bush administration and the greedy ignorant boils they have raised who spew there filth as if someone is still listening to them. Poland is a disgrace as it has always been, drunken clowns.

Nader is intelligent, and I feel that he is very correct in his point about the conflict. But, on a more personal note, by calling my people "a disgrace" and "drunken clowns," you exemplify to the world that you are a biggotted, ignorant cunt. Read a book.
KazimirAntonIII 3 years ago 3
They are a disgrace I know because I'm Polish. I read more books than you could possibly imagine, it is just another form of mind control. Polish people are good natured but ignorant and very impressionable. Perhaps my comments are a little over the top, but it's like that when it's personal and you have suffered for the igonrance of others. Alcholism is the biggest problem in the world and has been for some time. Sounds like you indulge a bit yourself, by your language and predictability.

Thank you Nader for speaking out on this issue.
