i agree completely on it being the best back building exercise but i was taught to leave my knees at a 90 degree angle and slide the bar up my thighs.. just my 2 cents
the reverse grip prevents you from standing at 90 degrees. the over hand grip makes your elbows stick out and subsequently, you can bend over to the 90 degree angle

@MattRht you know one way to strenghten your back is by holding a ten or twenty lb weights on your chest and (keeping your back straight) bend down and up,
