According to the God Father of Hip Hop, Afrika Bambaataa, the Fifth Element is knowledge, wisdom, understand, peace unity, love, and fun. Yes all of them together to make the 5th element. Hip hop came from black and latino people acting black and latino. Seeing as the majority of skateboarders have been white throughout it's history it's safe to say that skateboarding is definitally not hip hop. I like the comparisons of both cultures. An other thing both cultures possess is an intuitive way of thinking and seeing things. Taking one thing and making it something else. Flash turned 2 record players and an on/off switch into its own instrument while skaters turn things like a bench or a pool into a skatepark.
