Ryo vs Ryu

For once, just once, I would like to see Ken go against Ryo. Is that too much to ask? I've looked all over the place for that one match up and no one seems to have it posted. For one, they are very similar in appearance, and fighting style, as they are more in hand to hand rather than chi based attacks like Ryu. Would someone please do me the favor of uploading a Ken Masters vs Ryo Sakazaki? It would be greatly appreciated. Thank you..

Ryo FTW. I always found Ryu to be among the most boring SF characters, and Ryo's techniques look a lot better anyway. The Shinkuu Hadouken is useless unless at point blank while the Haoh Sogouken can surprise an opponent dicking around across the screen.

Any idiot calling him a ripoff needs to learn history - martial arts have been around long before videogames, and Capcom themselves ripped off a bunch of stuff from Konami's Ye Ar Kung Fu

Actually, Ryo's inspired by Ken from Street Fighter. You can tell by the way he looks and acts. Both of them even have a bomb-rush super move. Ryu does not.

Takashi Nishiyama was actually the man who made both Street Fighter in 1987 and also Art Of Fighting in 92. So Ryo is not a ripoff, since both games are related to the same creator.

True, i just dislike the fact that the modern hardcore SF player doesnt take the time to search info to back up the ignorant comments they often bring up. I respect SF and although i was raised playing capcom games, i often do play SNK more often, so before i were to make accusations, i would check my sources.

I can understand why some don`t check anything. It`s easier to make claims in the state of bliss. Besides, i think some fear that they won`t like the characters much if they admit they aren`t as original as they always believed them to be.

Nope. He is simply a character born of the same "Karate guy" concept, that was already around befire SF. That was never the novelty. The novelty were the new stuff created in both games that changed the landscape of fighting games.

That'd be totally believable if Street Fighter didn't come out in 1987 and Fatal Fury didn't come out in 1991. Who knows , maybe Capcom used a time traveling machine to go copy from SNK.

SNK copied capcom, but SNK's characters evolved and changed a lot more over the years than capcom's.

That is not possible, but Ryu and Ken came from the "Karate Champ" poster characters. They look basically the same. And wih SF and AOF made by the same producers, you can see where the similarities came from. For both of the games.

Ryo's a much more interesting character than Ryu. Ryu is just a generic archtype, Ryo has some actual personality. And he's got a lot more moves.

100 % agree!!! Ryu only has 3 basic special moves which are fireball, hurricane kick and dragon punch. I mean he never has major improvement in the new SF series... Oh yes maybe Evil Ryu? The down grade version of Shin Akuma! :P

Hmmm The graphic of KOF XII is somehow similar to Capcom VS SNK rather than the KOF series And about Ryo, he just looks like from his old day (Art of Fighting) I still prefer his KOF looks (now); he looks more handsome and mature. He also has better outfit (gloves and the foot protectors) which make him much cooler. I especially love his actual fighting stand Personally, I likes his character and his moves but I just dont really like his new look in KOF XII.

Actually story-wise there never was an "Evil Ryu" to begin with. He's just an extra character they threw in Alpha/Zero 2 for the lulz. He's a "what if" version of Ryu, but since he never succumbed to Dark Hadou he doesn't really exist.

POTS and Byakko put AI activators on those characters so they can bypass any setting you have. Look in the CNS files to get rid of them for a fair match.
