Yeah, it was '87, the year before this; she was nominated twice, and didn't make it back in after this one. And her win was RICHLY deserved.

Really, this was one hell of a category, maybe one of the Emmys' best lineups. Julia Duffy, Estelle Getty, Jackée Harry, Katherine Helmond, and Rhea Perlman?? Forget it! That's a TON of talent in one group, and they created five of the most fun and memorable sitcom performances of the entire decade.

Why do people post videos without the sound? If this was recorded off of a television, then there MUST have been sound at the time of the recording. So why don't we hear anything? It's almost as annoying as when there IS sound but it's not synchronized with the video.

She has a form of dementia called *Lewey Bodies* it is a slowly progressing disease and there is no cure...She has times when you wouldn't think anything was wrong, and days when her mind isn't her own, so for that reason she doesn't do interviews or talk to the press anymore. From what I hear she is pain free, and sleeps alot. It's sad for anyone to go thru that, one day hopefully there might be a cure *s*

People who make you laugh make you cry too somehow, and watching this and the other nominees made me think of the shows they were on then, and how much I loved at all of them and I get instantly teary. Wonderful performers dont happen overnight---it makes me want to look up all the things Estelle Getty did before GG and watch them. She was so good on Golden Girls , it really made the show work.
