Does one have to do this trick with a kiteloop? Would it be possible to just bring the kite over and change direction with enough pull to get the lift and momentum required?

@Justasurferdude Yes you can do it without looping the kite, but you need to be pretty powered.

I'm actually not so sure about the name. I googled it and found a thread on kiteforum com where everyone seemed to agree on the name "darkslide" which originally is a skateboard term (google it). I don't think it fits the trick that well now that kiteskates are becomming more popular and it's actually possible to do the skateboard trick on rails etc. Another name for the trick I'm doing is "tailslide" - I think it fits better.
