  • It would be simplistic to say Obama is visiting Ghana because of oil.This may be true to some degree but I would like to give Obama more credit than that. I think he chose Ghana over of Kenya becoz Kenya's democracy has been shakey. Kenya like Zimbabwe chose a unity agreement because the incumbents of both Zimbabwe and Kenya refused to give up power to the opposition who won the elections, that is not democracy. Where as Ghana has had generally free and fair elections. Obama did the right thing.
