@CliffnLee because he recorded audio exclusively using the G3 mic, which only fills one channel in a stereo XLR recording setup such as the on-camera inputs he used. This can easily be corrected in editing by duplicating the audio track and panning it to the opposite side, or simply panning the track to center, depending on what program you are using.
@Blind9Productions Actually I had the transmitter's xlr jack plugged into one channel on the camcorder. Forgot to put into 'Line 2' which has a switch to activate both channels of the audio output. My fault...both the G3 and the HMC 150 were brand new to me. Thanks for watching, though!
@arkerbt I just chose the Sennheiser over the Sony for 2 reasons: #1 The sony's don't have an output level adjustment on the receiver. #2 Although the sony may have slightly better range, the sony's have a higher noise floor.
Also the me2 supplied mic of the senn is much better than the sony, and quite usable.
The Azden WMS-Pro has 94db SPL and uses crystals instead of synthesized audio chip used in these others... The Azden WMS-Pro should have been on the top 10!
This is a great mic... but I'm short on money... is there a cheaper one (different brand or unit) that can buy? (with a little good quality of course) if not i'll just save money to buy this.. :)
Hi there, I really like your demo with this Sennheiser however I am curious if you had a situation where you had to use the audio from a DJ's mixer for your video on a function where an MC is using a wireless microphone from the DJ's system. Thank you.
@McDermottStudio I think it would be a good idea to make tutorial on attaching the hot shoe adapter. It was a little tricky to figure out the first time. In addition, it may be helpful to show the menu system in more detail.
Quick question: I own the sennheiser ew 100g3 lavs and every now and then they produce this horrible chirping/interference noise. How do I avoid it? What is the problem? If any of you guys could help me, that would be great. I am new to audio.
@lawhyno84 Not really sure what the squeak you're referring to is all about but, I can tell you that one thing I forgot to do is adjust the gain on my video camera. It's up way too high.
@lawhyno84 Sounds like its from the effect of recording at a low bit rate or poor encoding engine which has the same effect as a low bit rate like 128. It could also be a result from rendering at a low bit rate in order to make the file size smaller.
Hi mate! Greetings from London UK. Your very comprehensive video made me just purchase one of these!
Interestingly after watching this youtube video on my macbook pro I realized that i can only hear the sound from the left speaker? I uploaded other videos on youtube and the sound is evenly balanced. Any idea why?

It would be really great to see the sound quality of the G3 with a Sanken COS11D or DPA 4061 lav.

@MikeyMinimo Indeed, it was clipping. I was using a camcorder that I had received and didn't bother to adjust the audio levels. My fault.
