Flo Jo would have beaten Marion 97 of 100 times easily. Flo Jo had such an explosive kick at the end that if Marion was close at the end, Flo's afterburners would have kicked into overdrive. She is by far the fastest female that I have seen run.

Just compare Marion's fastest 100 races, 100m and compare that do Flo Jo's fastest 100 races. You'd maybe make some adjustments to wind readings, but i would think that is a good place to start. And as far as afterburners, there is no such thing, it looks that way, but it's not, runners pull away at the end cause they keep their speed better than others, ie who slows down the least.

I followed Flo Jo and Marion Jones throughout their track careers and Flo Jo was fast but always a little slower than the rest of the top track stars. While Marion Jones was always about the best, she didn't have to use Steroids, while perhaps Flo-Jo did! Flo Jo only won that last Olympic year while Marion Jones was just dominate throughout her track career! When I saw Flo Jo cry when she retired I felt if you love track so much why cry? Ben Johnson was using the same steriods for years, they were detectable but only for a short period's of time so they just stopped taking them shortly before they race. As in those days the test were not random they were done after the race.
johnson came unstuck because he gained an injury near to the olympics so he took a risk and took them too near the race.
flo jo quit athletics just 1 month before the introduction of random drug testing, despite previosly saying she wanted to race.

To benefit from drug use, you don't have to be on them at the time. If used in training, they allow you to push your body harder without getting tired allowing enhanced muscle development as well. These benefits will carry over into a race that is run shortly after drugs have cleared the system. Also, there is always some new drug that they don't yet have a test for (BALCO wouldn't have gone down if they hadn't been reported - undetectable drugs at the time).
FGJ was by no means a top speciman of an athlete, no doubt she had talent but like Jones had a shocking technique. Considering her times were set over 20 years ago and even todays clean athletes dedicated to the sport with better training, MUCH faster tracks & better nutrition(LOL) still cant anywhere near her times.

Her sudden rise from nowhere to best of all time in ONE YEAR (between 27 and 28 years of age) then immediate retirement at the time random testing was introduced, just when she could have earned loads of money if she was willing to go through the testing procedures away from her own country which swept lots 0f positives under the carpet.
Europe wouldn't have been as forgiving and that's where the financial incentives were.

Most real track and field athletes understand the impossibility of Florence Griffith-Joyner "training" for 8 months at the age of 27-28 years old and shattering world records without the assistance of performance enhancing drugs. Cruz was right in 1988, it was a shame. Sad for real ahtletes like Evelyn Ashford, her records were stolen. Between 1987-88 the 100, 200, 100m hurdles, long jump, high jump, discus and hept records were highjacked and stolen forever tainted. Sad!!!

I followed Flo Jo and Marion Jones throughout their track careers and Flo Jo was fast but always a little slower than the rest of the top track stars. While Marion Jones was always about the best, she didn't have to use Steroids, while perhaps Flo-Jo did! Flo Jo only won that last Olympic year while Marion Jones was just dominate throughout her track career! When I saw Flo Jo cry when she retired I felt if you love track so much why cry? I think we know the answer unless we are in denial!

Both of them were on drugs. But, drugs don't give you talent or make you faster. They give you more power and stamina. In the end Marion Jones proved that even with steroids she wasn't spectacular. I mean 21.85 with steroids? You can tell who was more talented by looking at their 200m personal bests.

Ben Johnson was using the same steriods for years, they were detectable but only for a short period's of time so they just stopped taking them shortly before they race. As in those days the test were not random they were done after the race.
johnson came unstuck because he gained an injury near to the olympics so he took a risk and took them too near the race.
flo jo quit athletics just 1 month before the introduction of random drug testing, despite previosly saying she wanted to race.

I know these sprinters are our heroes, but if you really knew the truth, you might not think so. Flo Jo's times definitely seem INSANELY impossible considering the fact that no other woman has gotten close to that WR in 20 years. But, my confusion comes when I think about the comments about there not being strict drug testing laws for track athletes around this time. If this was the case, why weren't the men producing record-shattering times as well? (Since it would've been easy for them to go undetected too) At any rate, her times still stand whether they were natural or drug induced.

To benefit from drug use, you don't have to be on them at the time. If used in training, they allow you to push your body harder without getting tired allowing enhanced muscle development as well. FGJ was by no means a top speciman of an athlete, no doubt she had talent but like Jones had a shocking technique. Considering her times were set over 20 years ago and even todays clean athletes dedicated to the sport with better training, MUCH faster tracks & better nutrition(LOL) still cant anywhere near her times.
Just look at the differences in the size of her labia, the facial hair, adams apple growth etc all the classic signs of taking 'something' a lady shouldn't.

PATHETIC, really! U cant face the truth she was a cheat. In the UK there was a full page spread comparing her in a before and after photo.
It showed all the MASSIVE physical differences and changes in a relatively short space of time. This included things like her labia Majoris & Minora amongst others. A classic case of STEROID use without doubt. Recordings of her voice were compared and again a huge difference in the amount of bass, she ended up speaking with a v. manly voice.
