Я всегда буду против прелестниц в таких контекстах, ибо это грань когда выхолащивается священное, наподобие того, как если бы церковные молитвы исполнялись в мини юбках где нибудь в полуборделях. Такие песни должны обращать чувства и мысли к атмосфере окопной правды, мукам и поту невозмутимых мужских лиц. Это кровь, а не эстетика гламурных дам.

Even after the death their graves were desecrated and vandalized. Now the situation has been improved, nevertheless their symbol, the red star was removed from their graves.

They were just children [I was born after WWII] and I think of them often even though I never knew them. I found this song years ago and it helps me feel better, somehow. This makes me cry, too. One thing you can say about Russians, they understand music, drama and emotion. I think Russians are beautiful people who have gone through such awful times for so many years. I think they understand the whole human condition as well as anybody. Russian music is unequaled.

For those reasons I completely agree with what you say. One must also remember Rachmaninoff and Tshiakowsky, the great composers. Rachmaninoff is absolutely a favorite of mine, perhaps also of yours.
