Oh man! I perfectly suit the FoaBP theme of passive youth, drained of curiosity. I feel guilty about it cause i know what i really want is passion, and curiosity. BUT, when that computer is the only thing i've got to do, i jump on it and FWOOM 4 hours have gone by! I played WoW for 3 years and i can confidently say it fucked me up to a point, i didnt care about social activites outside of the game, I barely cared about school, heck, i barely care about school NOW! Geez, whats becoming of us.
im 18 and agree with all of this! hip hop isnt what it was and music in general i think isnt the same, its more about images, money and a competition. I dont listen to the radio or watch tv really, due to it all being force fed crap, i spend most my time writing songs, recording, practicing, listening, reading and just generally aiming to be a better musician but with a keen interest learning of worldwide things...the stuff kids my age would say is boring or nerdy
We are fans of porcupine tree, and have a new album coming soon. Check out my channel, or search up "Koi-Rabbit", it's a very rough mix and absolutely not ready for publishing, but i'm too unpatient to care :P It would be very cool to get some constructive critique by fellow porcupine tree fans! We don't need sugarcoating brutal honesty is welcome! :) Hope you like it!...cheers! ///Patrik/Koi
children today are subliminally programmed by the mainstream media, they dont even realize what is going on, they think they do, but thats part of the problem that cant be fixed, sexism of our children, numbing of the senses, the new world order is gaining speed, this makes me feel helpless as a single father of two, all i can do is keep the tv out of their lives and subject them to REAL THOUGHT PROVOKING art, we do not have an american idol, survivor, etc type of home environment, TURNOFFYOURTV!
@mitsu4g63t well said man, i agree but don't give up on my generation yet. i think there may be just enough of us free from that mainstream crap to keep art alive, but im not sure
AMEN! This man's words about the label, the fans and the media's opinions are so true when it comes to creating music. It is extremely important to completely disregard the opinions of others and please ONESELF to be a true, honest artist.
Thank god that I gave a chance to PT. I loved Blackest Eyes but all the other songs didn't stick until a point in my life when I became totally fascinated with PT. That's what happens to me with all my favorite bands - I don't care too much for their music in the beginning, then I become obsessed. Anyway they ARE the best right now, including Tool, Nine Inch Nails, Radiohead, etc.
what happened to Morow? It doesn't play on my iTunes library anymore, and the website doesn't appear to exist. This radio station got me through studying for alot of tests! It sucks that I can't find it anymore.
true words from a real musician....it's so true all that he says about hiphop...hiphop today has become everything that it scouldn't be!....fuckin' pimp, money and car music!....there are alomst no "true" hiphop artists anymore.
It's a bit like watching a kind of living God. I totally agree with all comments I've read...This guy & his music took me out of despair. I will have the honour to go'N'see PT on stage in a few days, they're be playing in the Olympia concert hall, Paris,France.
I thought Rush would like them, because when I saw Rush, and they had the music playing before they went on, there must have been about 5 or 6 PT songs played
He defines perfectly what i think in life(a lot of people says the same i think, but im honest) in the first part of the interview that can understand (bad english)i agree in what he says, different point of view that reflects in his music, i love his music.
Say, is it just me, or does it seem like the A/V sync is really off on the YouTube version of this video? The version on DailyMotion doesn't seem to have this problem.
Steven Wilson I'm profoudly inspired by you.
