It's very surprising to me how the guards can so easily describe every little detail of what they said and did to the prisoners. It makes me question their mentality as individuals today. If I had to put my self in a guards position I would be too shameful and upset with myself to even talk about it.
Thanks to Vietnamese government, if without them, all Cambodian people are no longer exist. I was in Cambot in 1987, after the war, it was miserable for Combodian people
america is the reason this mess happen you know how easy it would of been to woop pol pot but bich ass democratic went and took out troops so khmer was left wit no bak up.. just like wut they wanna do in iraq it might be another killing field if americas makes another empty promise to help a country
Yep, always the fault of America, 510raskal. Stfu idiot, it's the fault of your own demented country. Blaming others that is all you're good for huh? Scum.
It's everyone's fault. US, China, UN, Viet, KR, Sihanauk, Lon Nol - everyone in the list did nothing right over the period. KR is the most responsible for the killing. No doubt about it.
Mr. Narth thanks for replayed this dark history and hopefully educate many people of Khmer rouge destruction. I myself had lost my father and many relatives during this time. What are we to do with these killers and many that had never brought to justice? I'm sure my father killer walked free and left with scared and sorrow.
I am American and I feel so ashamed that we helped Pol Pot. He was a monster, I can't imagine what it was like under his rule. I am sorry you lost your father.
American-Vietnam war did complicated Cambodia, but Cambodia revolutionary itself have caused the destruction and killed mass million. War sometimes change for better. For example American Civil war did brought changes for Better Caused. But many other wars in the World have brought shame and destruction. Therefore, I favor Peace in my lifetime. Thanks for your kind thoughts.
We gave Pol Pot money and weapons to fight the Vietnamese backed government in Cambodia. Basically it was a Cold War proxy battle between the Soviet ally of Vietnam, and the Chinese ally the Khmer Rouge, which we supported to indirectly drain Vietnam after the pullout of US forces.
good documentary. very heartfelt and personal. it was weird how they were kind of role-playing though.. re-living what they've done. especially the former guards. it also strikes me how calm the victims are around the former guards.
president nixon....piece of shit..

@DustayProductions
It's so sad to even know that the US was at war with Cambodia's liberators, too. Nixon even had Cambodia bombed... ...so shameful.
I'm glad humanity still has smart people who've taken the blindfolds from their eyes and see truth in things, such as history.
