  • really nice!!!!!!!

  • she's like a gypsy cymbalon player ... but this song is way older than the gypsys creations ...

  • @DeathNest94 Actually, this instrument has been played for longer by european gypsies than by Chinese. (It was introduced to China by Europeans--hence the original name meaning Foreign Zither..)

  • @fratiigore esti roman ?

  • @DeathNest94 No, I'm just a canadian fan of romanian traditional music :)

  • argh i wanna learn this song, anyone know what the title of this song is?

  • gah nvm, i know. Nice song!! ^^

  • nice song,i like it . i like Chinese haha

  • beautiful.

  • The present-day dulcimers in China are about twice the size of the originals. The instrument was brought to China by ancient Arab traders through the southern ports, including Quangzhou, where I saw some very old ones. They were quite small, had a small but exquisite sound, and could be carried by travelling performers. Now a dulcimer must be handled by a strong man, or two persons.

  • that is actually called the yang quin but in the U.S. it is called the dulcimer (they are like the dulcimer but not the same thing)

  • It's actually a type of dulcimer; it's the oldest kind of dulcimer (I think...)

  • Not to be a know-it-all, but the oldest were from persia, and were called santur. Then the instrument traveled to Greece, Eastern Europe, China, and eventually, the United States. It is said that the Hungarian version of the instrument (called cymblom) was the inspiration for the piano.

  • Beautiful!!

  • What a beautiful music!

    真了不起!

    すばらしい演奏ですね!

  • Fantastic performance. I've got to get one of those!

  • That is a lovely melody . It is a beautifully made instrument . The lady is quite pretty too.

  • I can play this, too. LOL

  • Great style!

  • I think this insrument is actually the sam as the Persian(iranian)instrument called Santoor if i am right.

  • Actually it is a Yangqin the chinese hammered dulcimer.

    Very well done.

  • do you know "why we call yang'? It was from outside of china.

  • It is called 扬琴,not 洋琴。

  • It is supposedly derived from "洋", though, since it was originally imported from elsewhere.

  • Dulcimers were a Greek or Persian invention (Santuri/Santoor stems from Greek psallos - to pluck) and spread all over Eurasia in the middle ages. In China it's known as a foreign zither.

  • Thanks to PianoScience's comment:

"that is actually called the yang quin but in the U.S. it is called the dulcimer (they are like the dulcimer but not the same thing)"

    Never knew that though...

  • I use to play this song. But i got sick of it. =p great performance! hahaha. xD

  • Thank you .. that was beautiful.

  • one of the best girl playing centimal music

  • Hen Hao Ting :-)

  • Your video clip is great and I've rated it as awesome. Please check out mine on some 1920's trading cards of musical instruments, including the Dulcimer.

  • Excellent music

  • O_O YOU ARE SO GOOD!!!! haha, i play the yang qin too, though i play the more..advanced version?...the one that doesnt require the key changing every time you play in a different key. Anyway, good work! I am so playing this song

  • Fabulous technique :-)

  • beautiful... I am touched.

  • Playing an arpeggio accompaniment & melody at the same time is pretty difficult on this instrument. The hammer dulcimer is the precursor of the piano - the player has to do the job that the piano mechanism does automatically, & hit the right strings every time.

  • nice, good skill on the ducimer as well looks quite complicated

  • Isn't this Mei Li De Fei Zhou?? That means beautiful Africa??

  • Nice playing and a nice sounding instrument, your timing is great.

  • Great performance. Skillfully performed.

  • wonderful...enjoyed it very much

  • Verrrry nice, i must think of all good thinks when hearing this!

  • wow:)
