@gr13340 Oh yea WDW is pretty awsome you should visit disneyworld sometime to see it its of course HUGE the parks are spread out but there's many resorts and theres water parks theres so much to do depending on what you would want to do :)

@musicrocks617 its open1 but when world of color starts is closed (closed one hour before the shows start and it doesnt open at all !!) why? cuz the 8:15 show the 9:15 and 10:15 and the park closes ,so u need a fastpass for the 10 oclock show to be in the park

i live near disney world and magic kingdom is still open after midnight like during holiday seasons closing till like 1 or 2am which is really fun

I'd love to go to Disneyland and California Adventure one day and i saw wanna see world of color and also ride the funwheel and also wanna see carsland when its finished :)

I love that Mickey so much better than that sun

I was there about two weeks ago on vacation for celebrating my graduation, and I saw this video before I went, which made me excited to see this in person. On my last day, unfortunately, the park closed right after it barely turned dark enough to see all this. When the new water show starts, they're definitely going to have to keep the park open longer. I wish that I got to ride the roller coaster int he dark. My whole family was dissappointed. We all want to go back really badly too!

They took a page from the Santa Monica Pier's new Ferris Wheel, which has a fantastic LED light package. And yes, where did you find the Paradise Pier area music? The music on King Triton's Carousel is a bit different than the area music.

i agree with rockstarlighting. granted the mickey looks great, but the lighting program at night is way over the top. i think it should be saved for world of color as a surprise or every 15 minutes there would be a minute show. but a continuous lighting spectacle gives away all the tricks.

I LOVE this! I was so against them changing this because I thought they were just slapping on a Mickey face and wasting a ton of money, but this is TOTALLY worth it. It is amazing. Good job Disney.

awesome i was there that weekend,but it sucked that you couldnt get a straight shot of the wheel cause of all the construction going on! but from the california screaming side is a great shot though,imo thanks for putting this up! :-)

OMG now if the Sun were still there (which i liked better when mickey was not there) it would look better to me :] but overall i think they did a good job but im still pissed about them replacing the mickey head on Screamin' with the Paradise Pier logo i think thats stupid but i guess the Logo will start to "fit in" and look decent

This is spectacular. This is the kind of imagination this park needs. It would have been so easy to slap on so paint and change the old "power sucking" light bulbs. This is a great addition.

All though I love LEDs and use them as a lighting designer, I feel like this is not fitting in with the architecture that they are creating. Take a look at what TSMM looks like at night. This is just my opinion. As I said before I still think that this will work well for World of Color.

I like the lighting upgrade. I feel like the LED's will work well in World of Color. I am having a hard time with the multi color content playing during normal operating hours. I feel like the colors should mix to an amber color to match the traditional lighting of a victorian seaside park. The current programming of the wheel looks too futuristic and would have been a better fit with the old Paradise Pier.

I don't agree. with your way of thinking we should also get rid of the huge lampposts on top of the main street roofs.

The LED's aren't obtrusive. Amber-only colors would be boring!

Just having amber lights would be boring. Besides this is an interpretation of a victorian park. if it were a victorian park Screaming would be a wood roller coaster, and Toy Story Midway Mania would not exists.

If you don't like it, build your own park.

I know that Disney is not trying to recreate a victorian theme park exactly.  I know that they are trying to go for that style of a theme to overlay on their rides. I thought the whole reason for the billion dollar renovation was to make all of their lands have a more cohesive theme. This to me feels like Santa Monica's Pier.

Then you would know that the "Gilded Age" was about opulence, color, and the display of wealth. That's why the homes of that area were called painted ladies. Despite the black and white images of the day, it was about color beauty and the dipsly of it -in all its grander.

And by your logic, since this is Mickey's Fun Wheel, and Mickey was not around in the Victorian Age, then they should get rid of the Mickey too!

And this is WAY better then SM Pier.

I hear where your coming from and I guess I am not really sure where Disney is going with their design. Maybe it will make more sense if they were to enhance California Screamin to the quality of light that they put Mickey's Fun Wheel in. I agree in that Disney did a far better job than the Santa Monica Pier. I was just stating that it has the same type of light.
