Baking soda has the same affect but I found it works better on just the little bumps not huge red pimples and it's baking soda so after you take it off, your skin will be irritated. Let the redness go down by its self don't add creams to it.

The asprin mask works VERY well. My mother and i do it every other week and it leaves your skin super soft and gives it a pretty glow. If i were you i would really try it because i am one of the many people that are very happy with this mask. :)

@lisbonallstars4 Takes like 10 minutes to dissolve the outer coating. It's not that you can't use it, obviously it's still asprin. You just have to soak it a little bit, and then the coating should come right off so you can crush the pill.

@TheSqueaky11 Not dumb at all. Aspirin, tylenol, and advil are all anti inflammatory drugs. The main idea here is using these anti inflammatory drugs locally to suppress the inflammation thus "takes away the redness." I am not sure how fat soluble these drugs are so i don't know how much is absorbed. However i do know that anti inflammatory drugs hinder the effectiveness of your immune system against the pathogens in the pimple, but a pimple is a very tiny infection so it should be ok.
