  • Horrible

  • like i didnt know how to do one :)

but at least i know what its call now

  • That was worse , mine is better.

  • Ummm ok well that was the WORST kick turn ive EVER seen.....

  • she's not very good at this... maybe should've gotten someone who could to demonstrate it

  • Im tryin so hard to get this down my ballet teacher says i need to strech more

  • @deaxdancer im pretty sute she didnt ask you

  • what is the spot?

  • @agyfrejacharl spotting is picking a spot in front of you, and making sure you watch it the whole time while you turn to keep your balance. look up spotting for dance and click the second video that comes up. it'll show you how to do it

  • ... i tried it... and i realized you must be flexible to do this. :( sad face. lol

  • like if your legs turned into an V -shape

  • ill hit that

  • that was bad..she could've done 2

  • im lefty so im gonna do all of that the oppiste of what u just said :D

  • Why do they start counting at 5 and not 1 ??

    What sort of maths did these people learn, I mean 5 - 6 - 7 - 8 - 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 ??

  • @lewis72 You are supposed to start doing the skill on 1 (the beginning of the eight count) so they give you 5-6-7-8 to give you preparation to do the skill like there was another 8-count before it. If they just started on one, you would be rushed to start and in large groups, everybody would be starting at different times.

  • @1SkyIsTheLimit1

Ah, OK. I guess that that makes sense. My sister's been doing dance for years and when I used to get dragged along years ago, I always wondered why the counting seemed odd. I was always into athlectics, so only had to deal with "On your marks - Get set - Go !"

  • @lewis72 haha because the majority of dance steps start on 1, the 5, 6, 7 ,8 is getting prepared for it, kind of like a ready set before the go.

  • @hannahbanana6911

Haha, yes, I get it now.

It's very impressive! Still, dancers can't run and runners can't dance (even though I reckon I can !)

  • @lewis72 Even though I'm a dancer I LOVE your comment!!! :P My mom was facing the same kind of confusion as you when she watched me for the first time in modern class and the teacher was counting 5-2-3--6-2-3--7-2-3--8-2-3--1-2-3 etc. Oh the things dancers do...

  • I love when dancers talkk.. we share the same language of dance(:

  • lol this one is horrible should of got a better kicker and turner

  • Hi, I go to just for kix. But i was wondering why all of the just for kix's dont have a studio? Please comment back, I've been dying to know! <3

  • Mine look like that... I think mine need a lot of improvement...

  • thaaaaaanks!! it helped me a lot!! :)

  • haha they removed the beginners

  • @Nicolee225

Lots of places have different names for things but we call them extension turns.

  • how would you do it to the front? cuz thats the way re dance team teacher taught us but im still confused. could you make a video of that?

  • well, beginners as in beginning to do the tilt TURN.

not beginners as in beginning to dance. it takes time...

  • what is it called when you do this turn but your pulling your leg up straight to the front parallel and turning like a leg hold turn?

  • @nicolee225 battement turn(:

  • @nicolee225 it's called many things leg hold turn, kick turns, and alot of others.

  • I'm felxible but i always fall out of it oh well i'll keep trying lol

  • i think they mean beginners for this particular skill...someone who's flexible enough to do them but just has never tried it.

  • @jumpaholic22 It's not just flexibility, but it's also about strength as well, and balance.

  • It looks like she had a hard time coming around once she kicked her leg up. But I love this move, it can work great in any piece

  • um ya i cant do that. im trying but its hard and this is my 5th yr hip hop 1 yr jazz 2 yrs lyrical.

  • @BuBbLeGuM7254 what about ballet ?

  • The step is for beginners but most beginners wouldn't have that kind of flexibility to hold their leg up there.

  • I did and I only cheer... Of course after 100 times of falling on my face (: But yeah it can be for beginners.

  • its beginner for sure...or else I wouldnt be able to do it! no previous dance experience and I can do it in slow motion...still working on it in fast motion though, the spin is what gets me XD

  • is she spotting the floor or her arm??

  • I learned this move in turns two, i believe its fine for a begginer vid

  • im working on it...you cant expect to get it perfect the first time. I'm already realy flexible...its the spin that I mess up on :)

  • i just can't land smoothly.

i either fall or just keep spining and not good spins .lol

  • i could do this!

  • ugh... I could do this if I was more flexible... :\

  • y do she got 1 shoe on???!!! lol

  • @21152612 one shoe will help her turn and she doesnt have the othr shoe on so she can land clean, cause sometimes you can slip

  • @21152612 you only need a shoe on the foot you turn on...its not needed on the other foot

  • they are broken down for not beginners people who have good flexibility but its broken down for them. yeesh doesnt take that long to comprehend

  • how do u have a perfect tilt and a ponshae? i can't spell it but what stretch helps you?

  • i had to do this in my competition [; but i had to hold it much longer !

  • I dont think that I can lift my leg that high up (yet)

  • this looks kinda hard ;-\

    lol...really for beginners?

  • deff not for beginners

  • I can do this now.

  • yea thats the one i know how to do which in my studio we call it a leg grab turn but ive never seen i titlted(:

  • its a little too advanced for beginners.

  • i think the title means like beginners for the leg hold. if that makes any sense.

  • depends..... actually im nOt really a "beginner" only in my second year of jazz but im advanced went from rec to comp in 1 year and have good flexibility and turns so.... i guess i dont count but for people who hav never danced then ya far too advanced for beginners. AND NO I DIDNT TYPE THIS JUST TO BRAG I TYPED THIS AS I WAS THINKING IT SO KEEP ANY RUDE COMMENTS TO UR SELF

  • @surfingislovee it actually is pretty beginner

  • wow!!..i can do this but my leg only goes so hight u need 2 b flexible 2 b able 2 do this!!

  • yeah you're right. but they called this one a tilted inside leg turn. =]

  • get over yourself?

  • omg thanks!!! ive always wanted to do that but never knew how to prep it!!!!!

  • She has my name! ^^

    I will now try this......

  • Yeah. At 0:28 she's REALLY holding her leg at a 90 degree angle.

  • yay my first try i got it yaaaaay:)

  • i think maybe they meant for people beginning to learn the turn, not beginners to dance all together :)

  • it looks easy when she does it but i bet its quite hard.. i wnana try it though :D

  • oh come on...is that for begginers?

  • bhahaha....um i tried this and its too hard ;\ i cant hold my leg up that long. its really hard grrr. >:[

  • most i have done with those are 4

    its fun

  • kay, i gues that wasnt what i was looking for. the one we have to do is with your leg right in front of you. but that was good

  • I got it now!!!

  • how do you spot looking down?I'm trying but it's hard

  • wow. I wish i was that flexible! Do you have any streches to make your legs ready to do that? Or just practice the simple splits?

  • A really good exercise for this i s really just doing the same thing on the floor. Roll over to right side, one hand supporting, one above your head. Then, straighten one of your legs on the floor. The leg facing the ceiling should bend, then develop to your head. Be sure to keep it turned out.

  • This is hardly for beginners cos u need gymnastic experience to do this

i cant lift my leg that high!!

  • you really don't need gymnastic experience to do this :]

just get your splits and that's about it.

  • this video really helped me! can i have a request? i want to know how to find my center, and improve on my periwets? (i think i spelled it right) thanks

  • do you mean a pirouette?

  • i hope thats what she meant

  • yeah i think thats what she meant.

  • lol "is that what you mean?"

"i hope thats what you meant" "yeah thats what she meant" lmfao nice XD

  • i did this for a solo twice and hmm am i doing it wrong because it's straight up or am i just gumby? am i doing it incorrectly?

  • i think you're talking about a different leg holding turn

  • Holy crap.

I'm gonna need to do some major stretching exercises for a while before I attempt that. At this point in time, I can barely raise my leg above my hip.

Yall make it look so easy, though! :-)

  • Ahhh. I suck at these...

  • all your lesson videos are awesome!!!!! thanks for the tips im from mexico and this is what we need to do a perfect dance routine!!!! like you do! lol thanks

  • i love these. I finally got mine

  • could you make a video on hinge turns? I've wanted to learn them ever since I saw Nathalie do them on SYTYCD

  • all your videos are great...i really like this one....but i would like to request u to do sum videos... i would like to see one about (i dont know how to spell it) a capesio (sounds like ka-pee-z-o) lol and a video on stretches on how to improve splits plz and thankyou

  • ya thats what i've learned
