In fact, I actually created a backstory for her where she grew up on the streets, learning magic from whatever discarded books she could scrounge up and using her magical talents in the same way that some street performers do, which is to entertain passersby in an attempt to earn enough to eat for that day, using a fake, boastful attitude to try to sell her act. After a while, she earned enough to be able to buy a trailer and slowly improve on it for her act. And then Boast Busters happened.

My thought for how things could end up is that she comes back to the village, apologizes for everything that went wrong, and goes through the process of learning how to get along with other ponies, along with learning magic alongside Twilight Sparkle. She may not have an element like the other six, but that doesn't make her any less of a valuable character. In fact, the lack of element and coming from different circumstances might make her even more of a main character than some would expect.
