What the hell, I was there that night, that boy was kept walking between the middle portion of the masjid, as if it were Sayee in Hajj, and plus this kid must have been 7, and he stepped on my feet, and other people's feet, there was even an announcement that we shouldn't walk around during the majlis. Where I grew up, if someone misbehaves, they get scolded, and that's what this was.....

What you need to ask is how much respect does the parent of this child have toward his fellow Brothers in Islam who are trying comprehend, understand, and learn from what Bro.Ammar is speaking of. It may not be the parents intention to disrespect the others and the Brother, but they are doing it indirectly. You can't just have your son or daughter running around doing whatever in the Masjid and think, "they are in the Hands of Allah".

The fact that a video clip like this is made just shows how some people are such fitna mongers. This video is taken out of context...one can't just take 10 secs from it and judge a person based on that! If you watched the entire speech, you'd see that at the 49th minute of his speech, he stopped and told the child to be seated. He must have tolerated a lot to wait that long to finally bring about attention to this matter.

You guys take little segments of his lecture and try to make him look bad...he did nothing wrong. Children do run around and they get annoying...especially, when the speaker is trying to speak to people, and the people present were probably getting annoyed as well...as we all do. He should told them to sit him down, I didn't know it was harem nor did I know it was a big deal to say that. It's a house of worship, not a play house! I applaud him for what he said :)

When I was a kid, I sat with my dad in the main urdu majlis, not understanding any of it. Nowadays, a lot of the time, the parents sit in the urdu and the children in the english. They have no one looking after them, they don't learn the akhaq of the mosque and they constantly walk around, leave the mosque, come back, play on their phones. I'm not saying we shouldn't have english programmes, but parents should teach their kids some basic akhlaq. It's understandable that Ammar would get annoyed

Many a time we find children and even the elderly in discussion while a Sheikh gives a talk. It is completely disrespectful and distracting. Our scholars have endeavored to research and disseminate knowledge to thousands across the world. The least we can do is be courteous and listen. This clip does not do justice to show how patient he truly is. Even in his speech on his last day, he went out of his way to ask for forgiveness IN CASE he offended anyone. He didn't have to do this, but he did.

I live in Australia and went to a local masjid some years ago and I swear by Allah when the Mullah was giving his khutbah there were numerous teenagers lying down and literally engaging in jokes and other antics while the Mullah was delivering his speech. Perhaps we need more of this sort of straightening out lol.

Secondly, at my home, when my parents have guests, and we interrupt them while they're speaking we get scolded, why? because it's disrespectful, discourteous and well, impolite. We do feel bad, when we get into trouble, no doubt, but in the process we are taught manners and ethics.

Also, he didn't speak out right away; he waited and since no one was controlling him, he requested for the child be seated. Thank you for posting this because YES, CHILDREN who are NOT looked after, especially in a house of worship, the child AND the parent should be made an example of. I've witnessed so many children run rampant at the mosque disturbing the programs while the parents just sit and let them without discipling them.
