  • LOL You do look like Latoya Luckett. Thanks for posting this video although I'm responding 3 years later. How often do you put curly activator in your hair? Im scared of my hair damaging. Also, how often do you blow dry your hair?

  • THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH! I really needed help figuring out what to do with my hair. I will now be a faithful subscriber! BTW... your hair is gorgeous girl!

  • is it okay if i co-wash a couple days after working out and just keep it moisturized and in protective styles until then?

  • I work out every day, but only co-wash once a week, should I be co washing every day then if I work out everyday, I'm a gym fanatic :-D

  • @cavendishderby i think you should at leat co-wash every other day to prevent that salt build up from sweat, and shampoo & condition once a week.

  • love your videos. you do a great job

  • i can do a ponytail in like 1 minutes........never mind 10 minutes

  • Wow, great video! What is your hair type?

  • but my hair does alot of shedding.. any suggestions

  • @xoxoPrincess24 I mainly use Vaseline and baby oil, and I wash my hair every day. If I want my hair to grow quicker I usually put a baseball cap or winter hat on and for some reason the heat makes my hair grow rapidly especially in the summer. When I cut my hair it usually starts to grow in about the 3 rd day and by day 5 or 6 I need to cut it again.

  • Do you condition wash after every workout? I've just noticed flaking in my scalp it's been about 3 days since I condition washed after my workout.

  • Is it enough to just rinse your hair after a workout? I'm kind of reluctant to try to co-wash after I've worked out, especially since I work out pretty much everyday.

  • hi @DPrincess28 in this video, how long did it take for you to grow to this length?

  • you can use curl activator if you don't have a jheri curl?? is it safe?

  • @armywife2248 : It's just gel.

  • Comment removed

  • @DPrincess28 What if anything as being the long-term effect of using curl activator. Bit concerned to use a jheri curl product.

Have you thought to use Aloe Vera gel, which is 100% organic?

    Thanks

  • Wow you're so pretty (LOL I don't think I've ever said that to a woman before). Anyway, I was wondering do you recommend using Clarifying shampoos at all? I use a shampoo with sulfates in it so wouldn't that strip the hair enough as is?

  • your hair is soo beautful if only it was this easy for me when i was natural. . .

  • I just have a quick question about rinsing your hair after a hard work out. I usually work out 5 days a week and I always work up a sweat in my hair. Would it be damaging to my hair if I did a rinse every time I worked out since your only suppose to wash your hair once a week.

  • lol u talk fast

  • I really like like the information you put out its so helpful. I see u use the oil for your hair how do you feel about using shea butter "pure", u feel you could get the same result.

  • omg! I did not know what a co wash was until i watched this video!

The video was very helpful into my daily styling hair.

can i put the bros brothers grease on my scalp instead of the hair?

Does it clogs the breathing in the hair if i do it that way?

and if not, is it healthy for me to use it on my scalp daily?

  • @kittycatzapp I've used the Bros Brothers hair oil back in the day and it worked pretty good, was kinda greasy but I think it has petroleum in it which I heard clogs your pores. I use Carol's Daughter Hair Balm & Hair Mimosa (when I can afford them) - my hair seems to like them and their supposed to be all natural.

  • doesn't that super grow contain mineral oil and isn't that bad for ur hair? thanx

  • Ok um hi....I really like your videos and I was wondering if maybe you can do a video on what to look for or look out for certain ingredient in products. Like is glycerin good or bad? I heard extracts is bad and also protein and petroleum. Also about this video..can you use a leave in daily conditioner for a co-wash? and if not is it ok to co-wash and then put in a leave in conditioner? and if not(sorry its a lot) what product to lock in moisture?

  • Why can't people just embrace their natural hair. It's more healthy, thick, and grows better and maybe even faster. Thanks so much for sharing.

  • Hi, what is the kitchen ?????

  • You are now my hair mentor. Yay, I'm so glad I found your videos.

  • Thanks for the tips! I work out every day almost 6 times a week. Since i rinse my hair everyday after a workout, i will start to add conditioner! My question is..is it good to cowash every day or should I do it once a week because I exercise every day?

  • @couturestar85 omgoodness!! i workout the same and when im finished im drenched and so is my front and the back of my hair!! but i rinse every other day...do you blow dry too?

  • Tanks for the tips! I work out every day almost 6 times a week. Since i rinse my hair everyday after a workout, i will start to add conditioner! My question is..is it good to cowash every day or should I do it once a week because I exercise every day?

  • OMG u look just like Ashanti !

  • I must have good genes because I never have to any of this to my hair and it's perfect, only problem is it grows to fast, but I'm not complaining. Maybe because you girls use to much products in your hair and that's why it does not grow or perform to your expectations.

  • nice video im learning how to do my herrrr

  • can you post a vid on how you do your eye makeup? it's really pretty and looks simple. :)

  • i use a lot of product too and i dont know why they say to use a "dime sized amount" never works. :P anyways i love your hair

  • GIRL!!!! your hair looks great even when you don't comb it...Have you ever tried detangling in the shower, then apply your product while it's still sopping wet? Wrap it in a T-Shirt (reduces frizz) before you get out of the shower and VOILA! You don't have to comb it anymore. Lemme know how you like it.

  • Girl...you're alright with me! Love your videos!

  • Omg your so pretty!

  • Thank you so much! XOXO

  • i'm sorry but i have to ask. are you one of jehovah's witnesses? aside from that...you are the best! i'm spanish and i had my hair cut a few times so it seems to have stopped growing. i needed your help! thank you for these awesome tips!

  • does the cowash work to get the chlorine out of ur hair after u go swimming ????????

  • I work out 6 out of 7 days a week, how offten should I co-wash?

  • daily

  • What do you think about working out everyday and co-washing hair? I am getting back into my workout routine and I workout 5 days a week in the mornings, sometimes I'll go back to the gym at night w/hubby...I usually shampoo 1x a wk, so what do you think?

  • you remind me of nicki minaj :) lol x

  • U kind of look like Le Toya Luckett!

  • Shoot, I was gonna say that. :-D

  • @pjanae29 -- ditto, i actually thought it was her! and @dprincess-- thanks for the tips! it really helps a lot.

  • I work out everyday! Should I co wash everytime I exercise?

  • Did you find the answer to your question? I need to know too.

  • @sphotkk yeah I wanna know how often should I co-wash if I work out everyday as well too lol

  • great vid! but for some reason it skipped my mind that naturalers use curl activators, i thought it looks just like that after a wash.

  • Great!

  • Thanks for the clear info... I was always wondering what Co-wash meant. :) The curls really look great hours afterwards.

  • I cannot co wash I have natural curly hair but my hair feels to heavy with a co wash I have to shampoo first.

  • how do you was your hair with just conditioner...? do u wet it, wash it with the conditioner, then was the conditioner out.... OR do you wash it with a leave in conditioner and let the condictioner stay in...? I'M sooooooooooooo CONFUSED

  • You massage your scalp with your fingertips. Then rinse it out, then, if you want, you can put a leave in conditioner.

  • you have great videos thanks

  • Is Pink Lotion a good product for wet and dry hair?

  • Pink lotion is not good for our hair at all. it has mineral oil in it and other terrible products. All it is going to do is coat the hair shaft and dry your hair out......stay away from: mineral oil, petrolatum (petroleum) and products with alcohol in it.

  • Extremely helpful. I am just learning how to care for my natural hair; it has been almost 2 years now.

  • You are soo helpful...Thanks!!!

  • your hair is so long! how long were you in transition for when you went to natural to get to that length?

  • I like your videos because you define your methods so well and you make it explain it well and I didn't know that about sweat thanks for mentioning it!

  • Thank you for addressing the salt and sweat from working out. I work out 5 days a week & roller skate two days a week. I currently was my hair twice a week & co- twice a week as well. I co -wash on the days that I wrkout & skate. Is that to much when your trying to retain lenth?

  • This was really helpful. My twin daughters have naturally curly hair similar to yours and I still learning how to care for curly hair.

  • It was Joe.

  • never heard one explain why to do co-washes, thank you!

  • Couldnt i just used shampoo and condition together, as usual?

  • you kinda look like ashanti

  • I feel u with the tight ponytail... its easier if you get thicker bands

  • You have fabulous hair and great tips.

  • You are so informative. I love it.

  • I notice that you brush your hair while wet. I use to do that so my hair would be slick and pretty too, but I started noticing that when I wore my hair straight, the top layer of hair was full of split ends!!!! What am I doing wrong?? I miss my ponytails.

  • Is a co - wash good for when you get out of a pool? And also for hair thats not curly?

  • Oh no! Please shampoo your hair after you swim. You need to get the chlorine out. I don't see why you couldn't co-wash your hair even if it's not curly. I just know that it does wonders for curly/kinky hair, as it helps make the hair more manageable. Hope this helps!

  • @DPrincess28 Actually that isnt true. You should never shampoo immediately after swimming! You should always rinse your hair with cool to luke warm water then do a deep conditioning. Chlorine strips your hair therefore a shampoo behind a chlorine stripping will damage your hair. This isnt speculation I am a cosmetologist and I have been in the hair game for quite a while

  • please disregard if I posted this already..

I live in chicago and I noticed you use water a lot in your hair what other options can I use with out wetting the hair daily to bring back my curls i love wearing it down however I don't want to go outside with a damp head. And are there any other pin ups you wear other than a ponytail?

  • where can I find the eye shadow you use and what does the primer over your eye do?

  • Never mind. I found it. =)

  • What is the name of that song? I have been searching and cant find it!

  • The first one was Tyrese or Joe, Faded Pictures. Cant remember which one cause the song is kind of old. The second was Annmarie, Why Don't We Fall In Love, my favorite song.

  • its case and joe..not tyrese

and the second artist name is Amerie..not Ann marie

  • Uhhh... I don't know about all those gels... activator and isoplus. Do you have an issue with buildup?

  • Thanks for this demostration, just what I was looking for, I have the same textured hair.

  • Im so glad you posted this, my hair texture has changed to looser waves and im trying to find out how to condition it being i have no idea what im doing! Also i love this song too!!!!!

  • what if you work out everyday, do you cowash everyday, because I co-wash two days a week and shampoo once a week? (My hair is naturally curly)

  • Oh wait! You know what you sed about salt? wat about sea salt like if you go swimming? can i do anything to protect my hair before hand?

  • Try to put a good conditioner on it or leave in conditioner (it acts as a barrier for your hair) then put your swimming cap on.

  • you could put a light conditioner in your hair

  • Finally! I found a video dealing with my hair texture!..The only difference is I don't use gel nor curl activator...and for heaven sakes no perms lol..but olive oil is my best friend lol

  • Hi!! I really enjoyed your video!! I used to be natural until i was 19, i was tired of only braiding my hair but had ni known your tricks i would probably still be natural right now , i've been thinking abiut it but the courage is not there yet, but if i do make the transition i'll let you know!! God bless.

  • DPrincess28 will you marry me??

  • so pretty mamaz ;]

  • Thanks!

  • u suggest co washing only for natural hair? wat about relaxed?

  • my hair is relaxed and I co-wash with no problems! It actually better than using shampoo too often.

  • NICE HAIIRR!!!

  • How do you prepare for sleep after wearing this style? Do you just wrap it with a satin scarf so you can wear the style another day? Doesn't all the gel make your hair hard? I want to do this style (at least when my hair get a little more length) but I HATE gel-hardened hair.

  • Thank you for the tips I workout a lot and do sauna sessions sometimes. I never wash my hair only 2 times a week with shampoo and conditioner. Now I'll just use conditioner for my second wash of the week and make sure I co wash after the gym. I don't sweat much though so maybe just when I do sauna sessions.

  • Your hair is really pretty, how long have you been natural

  • I'm just starting my hair journey - great tips and info! I had to subscribe!

  • Hi, I workout 4 times a week. Is it okay for me to co-wash my hair after each workout (like monday, tuesday, etc.)?

  • Why not just rinse your hair some days? It's not that I think daily co-washing will hurt. I just don't think it's necessary to wash the hair that often, even if it is with conditioner.

  • Okay, thanks!

  • Hi

I'm learning how to take care of my own hair. I want to wear it natural.

    What is a co-wash?

  • conditioner washing instead of shampoo which strips your hair of its natural oils!

  • you have really beautiful skin

  • thanks so much for posting this video! I was so helpful!!!!

  • Thank you so much for posting this video! I am struggling to find the best regimens for my crazy hair and this was very helpful! Please keep the videos coming!!

  • Oh, could you please tell me what makeup you are wearing in this video? Specifically the gloss, eyeshadow and blush. Thanks.

  • Which part? The makeup I'm wearing in the intro, or at the end of the video? I'll be posting a tutorial on the intro portion. Let me know hun.

  • Thanks for the response. I was thinking of the intro. But could you do both?

  • Sure can ;)!

  • i know i late on this. But really work for me instead of using the hard gels. is garneier fruitise- Soft Curl. i use pretty much all yuo use, but i use the soft curl as a sub on my edges instead of the gel. it works wonder and it not hard on my hair.

  • Excellent video as usual. Concise and informative.

  • I was once told not to put your hair in a tight pony tail, it is damaging. It breaks your hair off. But then I've also heard that tight pony tails makes your hair grow! I'm so confused!!??

  • I don't make them tight to the point where my head is hurtin'. I just like mine to look as sleek as possible ;).

  • Hi! My daughter has the same hair texture as you do and it's been quite vexing for me to figure out how to style it. I tend to want to straighten it but the curls fight back! I love the idea of the cowash. It seems even the gentlest shampoo strips her hair. We are definitely going to try this!

  • Uh-ohhhhhh...what do you mean by erode?? I'm nervous...hahahahahaha I never wash my hair right after the gym. Maybe I should start? Doe sit cause breakage and/or shedding?

  • Yes miss, it can lead to breakage because as you know, salt has a drying effect.

  • Ouuu....pretty curls! Great video! Thank you!

  • wow I have some Dr.Bonners, Ill have to try it:-) You mentioned your fotki in another video, what is your address? Your hair looks lovely.

  • Your curls are so pretty! And, activator gel really is good to make natural curls pop! I have never used Worlds of Curls activator gel on my natural curls. However, I do own a big tube of Proclaim Activator Gel and that stuff works really well too!

  • Thnx for another tutorial, your hair is beautiful ;-) and i love the song! Haven't heard it in a long time ;-o

  • Hi! I really like ur vids! Do you work out everyday and if so do u co-wash everyday?
