@valdivia562 He's always sounded good on record, but live he kinda goes downhill a bit. It doesn't help that he's still singing in a lower register meant for the seven string tuning, even when he's playing a six string. Being out of key like that really doesn't help. Like, I get that it helps keep his voice from cracking so much after the screaming, but it doesn't sound too good :-/

Their new music is not good. When did they decide to be a metalcore rip off band? This is sad to here. They used to be so incredible. I guess Travis leaving did hurt them. The new drummer is not very good either. Every song sounds like the same boring pattern over and over. At least Travis gave them the power metal edge that made them so fun to listen too.

Even now, I wish Matt would sing more. They have the potential to have a real vintage Metal sound, yet they release Ascendency part-II (In Waves) this past year. I think its a solid album, but Shogun is just so more advanced than anything they've ever done. In Waves is taking it back a little too much I feel. I hope this was more of an experimental album and the next is a progression on the type of songs found on Shogun...more technical...more thrash elements, and less metalcore.

@metallica2308 Each and every band changes itself over the years. I personally believe that Shogun was their best album coupled with Ascendency and In Waves being my third choice. When I first listened the new songs of the new album I was kind of disappointed until I noticed the lyrics and took a closure look on the instrumental part. That all of course being my own damn opinion. My favorite song is still Shogun :)
