thats not brazing..its just soldering..yes both are close to the same thing, but if you use solder then its soldering..lol still a good video but a little missleading. the two main differances between the twoo are 1. temp, (solder melts at a really low temp, almost like lead, in fact you can solder with lead as well) 2. when soldering all you have to do is touch one place on the pipe and it will flow all the way around the pipe "soldering it" with brazing you have to slowly work it around.
can find the potable butane torch used here with brazing rods here cgi.ebay.in/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330481014286&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT
Oweld machines generates Hydrogen and Oxygen with electrolysis of water. Can be used, but due to Hydrogen flame has very high temperatures, there is a possibility to melt aluminium. Use of wide and soft flame is advised in this application, like propane.
The Oweld flame's temperature is about 3600 degrees. You don't melt the alluminum because you go more fast. Thanks to this temperature the alloy goes deeper and the joints are more stronger. Moreover with Oweld gas generators you don't spend costs of gas any more and you will have a safe workplace (without risks of explosion, monoxide of carbon...).
Ca you please reveal the name and manufacturer of the FLUX use. And the filler material, is this Aluminium filler matrial use or 60/40 Soldering wire used?? Thanks
Further into my brazing research tonight I realized the compound is flux. I really wish I could find some fucking INSTRUCTIONAL videos on YouTube for brazing...
will joints like these last a decade or more if submerged in boiling water? I'm looking to build a solar hot water heater...

How much pressure can the joint handle?
Will it hold up to the new 410 pressures for air conditioners?

you should try with oweld gas generators

I would be interested to see this work on an old system where oil penetrated the pores of the copper and aluminium

oil should be cleaned before brazing.

The "glue" is actually flux, to help the brazing metal stick good.

PeugeotCommuter 5 years ago
Forteflux 040 brazing flux is mixed with pure water. 20-25% pure water is added on a balance.
