Read The King and Dr. Nick if you want to know fact from fiction regarding alleged drug abuse. In love with himself? I don't think so-- but he was a pro. Though I love 3 Dog Night (Shambala, One, etc...), Elvis rocks this one out...and, I remember seeing him at the Lloyd Nobel Center with Dixie in Norman. I vividly recall asking my Mom what was wrong with all those women who kept fainting. Hysterical...and, those outfits and the cape! We were right up front, and it was quite a show.

I hate how people talk about him being high. They obviously don't understand music...can't you tell his timing is impeccable...every note is spot on... that doesn't happen when someone is high. Just like a drunk doesn't walk straight. By the way experts (people who know about these things) concur that Elvis had the most perfect timing...literally unmatched. And his performances are generally flawless....he just makes it look so easy, effortless. The only man in 4 Music Halls of Fame. Genius.
