@wyattb995 I don't wear the coloured ones unless I'm at college, but the black ones I wear all the time. It's the DMs leather, it takes a long time to look properly worn and stretched. =]

Hi, i'm a first time Doc's buyer (a friend has a pair and i feel like an idiot for not getting in on the DM party) but as a guy i was thinking of investing in a pair of 1490's (10 eyes) i was wondering your opinion on that; i would like to wear them with jeans tucked into the shafts and was wondering if that would be a good boot length to start with

@dommer117 I personally agree, and the 8 eyes too. The 8's are the traditional pair, but that's the fun about DMs you can experiment. The 10s are a great choice too, and anything above that depends on colour of the boots and jeans, but that's my opinion =]

my favouritest DM's of all times are the triumph range...having bought the purple ones last feb, I treated myself to the brown shearling ones in November and now have my eye on the red ones...they are without doubt the most gorgeously comfy boots I have ever worn (and at the age of 50, I have some experience!...must have had about 20 pairs of Docs over the years..my previous best ones were some purple velvet ones I had about 15 years ago.....good luck with all yours!!!

@d3siichiick they are usually true to size, but just go to a store and try them. You should be able to wiggle your toes quite comfortably =]

Why don't you have one pair and change the laces when you want a different colour lace? The 1914's are 14 eyelets not 20. Sorry to be pedantic, just making it clear for people who may be interested/confused. I have just bought some Vintage Oxblood (made in England) 1914's. Haven't worn DM's since I was about 14! Like the navy boots by the way.
