Well done you have just ruined a perfectly good specimen, if you are watching this please be aware this NO WAY TO SET AN INSECT. You DO NOT put pins through the wings. Lazy, destructive, disrespectful, devalues, are the words that spring to mind.
I hate when an insect collector pins through the wings. It's lazy, and disrespectful to this specimen. You're collecting it from nature, you owe it to take the time to properly pin without damaging the wings.
@riminovz1 I think they have four. At least in some species of butterflys and/or moths the two wings on the left or right side are hooked together. The merging makes four wings function like two wings.
Killing one to keep it for collection is a way to ensure that our grandsons can see these creatures when they are extinct not by killing them for collection but by other worse factors, like Urbanization, killing them for no proper reason or killing the plants they grow on
why do that?

@Wolfgang42m Better still to watch and read, as there are many ways to spread a butterfly -without- damaging the wings using a pin.

Thanks. Informative. It's better to see once than to read a hundred of times.
Might be usefull for me.
