Great blend of stop animation and real footage AND a unique idea! Flying Coke bottle.....so cool. I want to see more footage of that thing flying out side.
This video is off the charts! In this age of quick-n-easy, do-it-yerself CGI and flash animation, it makes me smile to see good, old fashioned stop-motion work that actually involved an animator touching something in the real world and patiently positioning and re-positioning the elements over and over.
And you actually gave credit where it was due to the artists whose music you've used? How many people on YouTube care enough to do that?
Seeing that wobbly coke bottle rolling precariously from side-to-side prior to lifting off, I was reminded of the blood-curdling blade-strikes that can result from a completely stock CX2 tipping over in a failed launch, so that was mighty impressive right there.
And then just seeing the thing in flight, it all took on an even more bizarre quality.
I've spent my life writing and doing various types of creative things, which often involves schmoozing and hobnobbing with pretentious, avant-garde intellectuals and artistic types. I know I could go to those people, tell them your video is a "postmodern, dadaist commentary on the crassness of our throw-away, consumer culture" or some such clap-trap, and they'd be eating out of my hands.
Heck, they'd prolly offer you a gallery showing or something.
Really, though, since it may actually be true that you've created a "postmodern, dadaist commentary on the crassness of our throw-away, consumer culture," and since your medium is YouTube, I think it only appropriate that you take this to the next level:
In keeping with the YouTube, viral-video meme of the moment, you need to create a flying diet-coke-with-Mentos attack-helicopter contraption.
It'll take a lot more horsepower than a CX2 has, but just think of it: An RC coke-bottle heli spewing an eruption of exploding Mentos out of its nose as if they were fifty caliber shells!
Why, I could convince my bohemian artsy friends that it was some kind of indictment of militarism or the war in Iraq or some such.
Yeah, I know I sound a little manic. Too much coffee, perhaps. Not that I've said anything untrue. This clip is nicely done, the customization of the heli is on a George Barris or Andy Warhol level of insanity, and the piloting is skillful. Just givin' credit where it's due.
Umm, nice flying? Do u mean upgrading CX2 parts or going to a better heli? I'm on a CP Pro now if that's what ur asking about. Only used the CX2 to learn the controls. Don't buy a 400, T-rex or something, unless u want to waste a couple hundred bucks. haha I'd buy a CP or something similar. Once u learn a tail driven heli, u'll be fine after that. usually :P
rapist cocacola
