The life of John Berry has not been easy. His legs were nearly crushed in a motorcycle accident in the 1980s, and several years later he underwent brain surgery to remove a tumor. he had a chance to sign a contract for a major record company after his performance in the 1995 CMA's but he turned it down because they would have gotten to pick what songs went on his albums, and he didnt like that.

Life may be dificult and complicated and may seem filled with lots of problems. But no reason to ignore what is in the heart. Life is too short and regrets always live on. One question one asks themselves is it worth it to just live or live with where the heart is? Life is complex and hard a lot of times with many people's hearts involved. Decisions also can be complicated based on life events too. I've been in similar thing. It's tough. I cant say what is right or wrong because I dont know.

I dedicate this song to my wife. I have had a couple years of hard knocks....6 surgery procedures...going for number 7 in June. We lost our son to the war in Iraq on Jan 2 2009. Thru it all, she has been by my side. I love you , Tamy. always forever and beyond

On our way to Reno, from Oregon to elope, (we dated for two months) we listened to John Berry for most of the ride. A year later, we renewed our vows, Nigel sang me this song for our first dance. For the birth of our first son, I put together a compilation cassette, just as he was born this song started playing. We met John after a concert in Portand, I never told him how he had, through his music touched our lives. This is our song, it says everything.

What a great singer. He sounds like Dallas Holmes, the Gospel singer who sings,"Rise Again"....I am going to listen to all I can find. I already listened to "Oh HOly NIght" and it is the best version of that song I have heard.
