Hehe.... I have to say, her voice is good, but needs to practice more to hit the right higher notes. And the tempo of this song definitely needs to be faster.
Tempo is WAY too slow. Her voice is terrific, but this is a song about exacting blood in revenge from a rival. This aria in a slowed tempo takes away from that big time. So anyone who doesn't know this piece or the German language might think, "Oh wow! This is really pretty."
I respect your opinion. I have mine as well and I think very highly of this singer. Be sure you are distinguishing VOICE from PERFORMANCE. I don't like this PERFORMANCE because of the incredibly slowed tempo. I think had this been performed at a more appropriate tempo, it would sound very good!

Don't use the "you can't do it" excuse. If someone here knows that can't sing this, probably won't even try, especially in public. But she didn't care and kept hurting everybody's hears.
You all are just mean, and I think I can judge her... is her voice so off key that cats are running in opposite directions? That's boloney and you know it. You just want to be mean and cruel...Why is it that opera "critics" are so nasty? It's like having a bunch of Simon Cowell's that get off by spewing venom...
Well, I *can* do it, but that doesn't make much difference to what we are talking about here. Every soprano who has a few high notes think they can sing this aria, and I wish they wouldn't! How does the teacher allow this, is what I want to know. Teacher must be as delusional as the student.
Judging by the background, the acoustics and the cuts it sounds like a class recital, if she's a learner then it's not going to be perfect. She didn't sound like she was struggling much except a couple of the very highest notes. She just needs to keep up the training and practise.
Her voice is very high but where is her talent? She only stands there and thinks she is gorgeous and great. I wonder if she know what she is singing or if she knows that most of her notes is false?
I never understood why would anyone sing and aria that they are totally struggling with. She could sing anything else, I suggest romantic opera. Why this hell of an aria that if one doesn't make perfect it's terrible? If you can't do it perfect stay away from Mozart for in his music the slightest mistake SHOWS!!!!!BADLY!!!
My God, this is slower than Bessie Abott! And why those odd little edits? Did someone spare us the really BAD notes? Of course, the Benchmark of Bad in this aria is Florence Foster Jenkins, but this, bad as it is, isn't bad enough to be funny.
she has no pitch control in the upper register, at all. whoever americanidol006 is doesnt know what theyre talking, this has nothing to do with anyones opinion of opera, it just sucks. judging by the americanidol name, youre probably some high school girl in choir who sings pop and doesnt know anythign about opera, im in music school and i listen to a lot of opera, and i can definitively say that that was aweful.
This lady has a good voice but has been mislead into singing in the wrong range & clearly doesnt benefit from the guidance of a good vocal coach. If she did I think she would do very well. Her lowest notes were the strongest & in the best tone. Because of this, I'm sorry, not trying to be unkind but this particular performance was awful, pianist hang your head in shame.
who told her she could sing this? i've never seen someone who misses so many tones. it's like a cat falling into a bathtub!
plus she clearly doesn't understand a word of what she's singing.
the pianist must have some musical education. and for destroying this piece by polaying it so slowly he should be punished. by listening to that recording over and over again.
Also, I think if she performed something like Voi Che Sapete, it would suit her voice much better, as it's a slightly simpler aria, and it would also show off her vocal abilities much better as well.
She has a very nice tone to her voice, but lacks in vocal technique. I can't hear her diaphragm working at all on the high notes. I don't think she was really ready to perform it. The tempo of the aria is also way too slow, and because of a lack of emotion it comes across as a tad bit boring. I feel that she was only trying to show off her voice. The pianist also faltered on many occasions.
A nice voice, but she is seriously mislead. The aria itself is about a woman who is enraged, this tempo is waaaaaay too slow. She didn't sing that 'F' in tune ONCE! Moreover, I don't think she knows the meaning of what she is singing. She is completely emotionless.
She isn't that bad. It all has to do with your opinion of Opera and music. If you don't like it then why are you even listening to it? She actually has some talent!!! I sing opera. It can be very pretty and she isn't doing that bad!!!!!! Stop hating on opera singers!!!
ZZzzzzzzz is it over yet? She probably has a fairly good voice, but she shold keep her vocal chords away from this piece, otherwise she won't be singing for long. That might be a positive note!!
Well, anyone who will take this aria on in front of any audience is braver than I will ever be. The effect of this one, slowed down like this, with all its glittery edges softened, is really different. It's just too high/too hard for her, as it is for almost everyone.
i'd say, anyone who's willing to butcher the aria so much has no shame. if she considers herself an opera singer, she needs to make sure that she can sing the piece before standing in front of any audience. it's like one of those bad american idol auditions.
Seems like something a really young, really high-aspiring person might do, though.Reminds me of myself in my teens, singing "Che Faro" from Gluck's Orfeo in an audition because (as I was pathetically pleased with myself for being able to do) I could hit all the notes. I'd gotten enchanted with the aria after hearing it sung by someone whom I know now was not all that good. I hadn't heard Janet Baker or Marilyn Horne sing it at that point, and if I had, I'd have known not to try.
Why has thou forsaken me?....LOL The pianist is a mess too... and whoever is saying bravo at the end must be a blood relative. Now that I'm done be ugly, let me say it took a lot of work to get to that point, good job, don't give up! Nice voice let it work more and not you...just think about it and you'll get it...
Oh my poor ears...this is the WORST Der Holle I have EVER heard. That does include the 12 year old boy that sings it!!! FAR too slow, horribly unclean coloratura, bad piano playing, bad video. Do I need to continue??? Please remove it!!! Unless you want something to laugh at non-stop. I hope you didn't charge for the recital!
Ok I'm the last person to judge one's singing but this really isn't that good. The tempo is too slow, the phrasing is pretty dire, the pitching of higher notes is pretty poor, and tbh, I think this has been recorded more than once and pieced together.
well... not great. flat on the high F and and ugly slurred runs, not great control of your upper register. more practice and it might work. also, another song might be better. I feel you are just a soprano, not a coloratura soprano. the pianist was amazing either.
Your voice is rather rough for this aria and you fall flat on the high Fs. You need more training to polish your coloratura. But I like the natural quality of your voice.
I'm sorry but she actually makes my skin crawl! Far too slow, pitching is absolutely horrendous *particularly in the upper registers* and the pianist isn't that brilliant either. In fact just as bad!
she needs help...tempo is extrememly slow...she needs to understand the text better..I dont thinks she has a clue what shes saying...the F's were nasty
This is beyond awful. Why and how in God's name does this woman think that she can sing? It's like amateur hour at the local school, come to think of it I reckon that it is amateur hour at the local school.
there are some parts that are off key.... was she singing sharp when she is trying to reach the high F???? I don't she has trained her voice.... at least, it does not sound like she has...
Not a very good rendition, but she definitely can sing well. This is one, if not the most, dificult aria to sing, & she did deliver most of the tough notes quite alright. The tempo is way too slow though. If Mozart was alive, he'd sue her.
Firstly, as everyone has already mentioned that this aria is under tempo. But maybe the singer purposely did this to make her diction more clear and also do something that isnt easy. Because what she did wasnt easy and she was brave to take it on.
Awwwww! Okay, she is not the hottest Queen but did anyone hear the accompanist? My good God in heaven! Oh, by the way, did I say it is waaaaaaaaaaaaay too slow? Yaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwn!
This aria was meant to be FAST not turle express slow! Go back to an opera school, practice that car alarm voice and try not to squeak when ya sing OR talk!!!!
thats right lady, take your time..dont mind the piece's tempo markings..just soldier on..pretend the notes are all whole notes, dont mind the composer's intentions, you are far above that.
but to give her credit, she can hit high notes i cant.
In her defense, the first round of C's were better than I expected...but oh dear GOD!!! The worst Queen I've ever heard. This tempo is AWFUL!!! All her rhythms are wrong, and the pianist is almost worse than she is.
My opinion is I wouldn't even attempt it if I couldn't sing it well. I mean, she is not only weak with her support (is there even any there?) she can't keep the beat--she's off a couple places, and futhermore, she sings it as though everything is all wonderful--and that is not what the song is about. Also, why the hell is she keeping the beat so slow? It's much faster.
Now I may still be new to opera, and my ears may not yet be conditioned to tell horrible from good, but in my opinion, she's attempting to sing of the most difficult aria there is, and I say kudos to her for at least attempting it.
Well, what can one say? It's almost like she can't reach it! She's struggling to get up there 'so to speak' besides, she's singing it to decent, too nice, this should be sung malicious, evil.
Please... isn't this just an amateur singer performing for some people at a church? Taken as that, it's not so awful. It's far better than that woman who just sang the notes to a beat as if there were no lyrics.
If that's the case, and she's at a church, then why didn't someone throw some holy water on her and command that screeching demon out? The power of Christ compels her:o)!
Hehe.... I have to say, her voice is good, but needs to practice more to hit the right higher notes. And the tempo of this song definitely needs to be faster.

SparafucileVengador 5 years ago
she needs help...tempo is extrememly slow...she needs to understand the text better..I dont thinks she has a clue what shes saying...the F's were nasty
jokerab112 5 years ago
This is beyond awful. Why and how in God's name does this woman think that she can sing? It's like amateur hour at the local school, come to think of it I reckon that it is amateur hour at the local school.

This is awful. It is not endured to listen honestly.
I think that she is not a skill as this song can still be sung.

I agree this is a little slow, lost the magic...
cicipio 5 years ago
there are some parts that are off key.... was she singing sharp when she is trying to reach the high F???? I don't she has trained her voice.... at least, it does not sound like she has...
margotlorena 5 years ago
see, it could be good if it was faster...if it was faster then she'd have more energy to sing and it'd probably sound pretty good
glasskimono 5 years ago
I enjoyed it. Why should everyone stick to the original? Come on, it wasn't like remaking of the opera or anything. ;]
theprimadonna 5 years ago
she was trying to stick to the origina o_O that's what's so disturbing
sirinferno 4 years ago
sirinferno, the original from 1791? o_O did she hear it her nightmares.
gosh, every time i log on to read comments, i have to hear this performance all over again.
i wonder if FoxyGrandpa is somehow related to the singer.

Not a very good rendition, but she definitely can sing well. This is one, if not the most, dificult aria to sing, & she did deliver most of the tough notes quite alright. The tempo is way too slow though. If Mozart was alive, he'd sue her.
gemininer 5 years ago
Firstly, as everyone has already mentioned that this aria is under tempo. But maybe the singer purposely did this to make her diction more clear and also do something that isnt easy. Because what she did wasnt easy and she was brave to take it on.
krnsassyboi 5 years ago
"How about this song?...It has lots of high notes and I love singing high notes... What's a zauberflote?... That's too fast, can we do it slower?"
Love the smile at the end...yes sweetie, you done good. But do you know WTF you're singing about?

thats right lady, take your time..dont mind the piece's tempo markings..just soldier on..pretend the notes are all whole notes, dont mind the composer's intentions, you are far above that.
but to give her credit, she can hit high notes i cant.
abadab 5 years ago
was the speed supporsed to be largo? please hit the high notes properly.

saritalove 5 years ago
Lyosha87 5 years ago

jjaajjaa LOL

In her defense, the first round of C's were better than I expected...but oh dear GOD!!! The worst Queen I've ever heard. This tempo is AWFUL!!! All her rhythms are wrong, and the pianist is almost worse than she is.
JonGStahl 5 years ago
My opinion is I wouldn't even attempt it if I couldn't sing it well. I mean, she is not only weak with her support (is there even any there?) she can't keep the beat--she's off a couple places, and futhermore, she sings it as though everything is all wonderful--and that is not what the song is about. Also, why the hell is she keeping the beat so slow? It's much faster.
Mindi31 5 years ago
Now I may still be new to opera, and my ears may not yet be conditioned to tell horrible from good, but in my opinion, she's attempting to sing of the most difficult aria there is, and I say kudos to her for at least attempting it.
ScathingResplendence 5 years ago
Well, what can one say? It's almost like she can't reach it! She's struggling to get up there 'so to speak' besides, she's singing it to decent, too nice, this should be sung malicious, evil.

Please... isn't this just an amateur singer performing for some people at a church? Taken as that, it's not so awful. It's far better than that woman who just sang the notes to a beat as if there were no lyrics.
PocketRebel 5 years ago
If that's the case, and she's at a church, then why didn't someone throw some holy water on her and command that screeching demon out? The power of Christ compels her:o)!
