I umpire Varsity high school level baseball and it seems that every batter thinks a ball that they look at, that I call a strike, is a ball 100% of the time. Batters need to swing their bats at borderline pitches and quit blaming their inadequacies to hit the ball on the umpire behind the plate. I did not see where the ball crossed the batter on the first pitch. From that standpoint it is hard to see whether it was a strike or not.
