  • That's a pretty cool poor-man's sarod. For 35 bucks, you killed. Nicely done.

  • VERY VERY beautiful. Sound VERY much like a sitar and other indian string instruments. Sounds like thats what you were going for in sound and you did a great job pulling it off.

  • I had a banjo like that, I bet the pot is from a klira one.

  • @MrRoping I bought it in Nevada City 1999. $35 :-)

  • Was it originally a 5 string banjo and you changed the neck? Or, was it always a 6 string banjo, and you put a smooth fretboard on it? Is the fretboard stainless steel?

  • This was sort of a banjo/guitar I picked up for $35, and slapped on a piece of sheet-metal.

  • Where are you located?

  • Czech mostly, also B.C.

  • Beautiful Sounds man.

  • Why not :-)

  • Awesome man, love the sound, did you convert that from a regular banjo?

  • Thanks bro... sort of a regular banjo. Actually it is a German made "guitar-banjo". I would say the body is a regular banjo, but the neck and head are like a guitar. I picked it up in Nevada City CA ten years ago when on holiday - and converted it right there :-)

  • Did you put the smooth fret board on, or was it originally a 5 string banjo?

  • @unpluggedunfretted was it originally a 5 string banjo?

  • excellent sarod substitute, you have a great hand on this instrument, nicely played.
