  • OMG! Allison is the perfect Diana Ross! I never would have anticipated that!

  • Golf sucks the life out of everything doesn't it?

  • Pretty impressive! She's pitch perfect. It's only surprising because she normally only sings slower songs. Very nice change :)

  • country club set just don't get it

  • that's poor.

I have never pressed dislike before. I have never even thought it before in the same breath as the fabulous Alison Krauss.

Even angels have a go at the karaoke it seems.

Just noticed it as for the Ryder cup. Figures

  • shes perfect

  • That sounded... Like shit, dixie chicks dont whisper, i love alison but shes ment for slower softer songs :)

  • She didn't nearly "make it her own", but she did a decent job. she's not an R&B singer, and does not have anything like heavy weight R&B vocal technique (like Cristina Aguilara, for example), but her vocal notes are beautifully pure and articulated. Her version does not suck like so many other denatured "country" versions of R&B tunes.....(think Conway Twitty)

  • She. Is. Amazing.

  • @wr8y :

    Samuel L. Jackson

  • Alison Krauss...What more can I say....Did I say Alison Krauss?....

  • @wr8y That was Samuel L. Jackson

  • I love her voice , someday i would like to see her in person before i leave this earth.

  • Alison Krauss can do no wrong.

  • Hey I just found out that my friend MARCIA WARE is singing back up with the Funk Bro on this song. WOW

  • 1:20 & 2:25 2:55 white chick has no rhythm (yes, I'm a honky too)

This looks like a concert at a golf club. They look Tee'd off.

    Boring, fat, balding, white folks.

3 to 1 ratio of golfers to paramedics.

    Alison is so sexy.

  • there golfers what do you expect!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I want to get Samuel L. Jackson to go around and introduce me anytime I come into a room.

  • I'm a big phil collins and alison krauss fan and I can say for sure that both versions are really awesome, but in alison's version I think there is more power xD

  • Wow! I'm impressed. I never would have thought she could sing a song like that! Good for her.

  • I'd be embarrassed if I was one of the people they shot a close up of and I didn't know the words...

  • lame crowd.

  • Oh god the crowd just need to go kill themselfs... Mrs. Krauss is an awesome artist and these up tight fuck's are so stuck on there appearance that they could even enjoy themself's..... Reminder to self never go to Oakland Hill, Michigan!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I can't believe how uptight the people in the audience are....You could place a lump of coal between their butt cheeks, come back in a half hour and get a diamond....

A great singer doing a great get-up-and -dance song and they hardly move!

  • Wow she's so amazing, can sing anything really good!

  • Apart from the dancing granny, that great performance was wasted on the golfies.

  • hahhaha never seen so many people who just clap their hands so calmly to such fun song!

  • Allyson is soo sooo adorable!!!!! I

  • She is just fantastic! I just Love her.

  • Woo Hoo! Alison came in on the soul train. : )

  • what a crowd!!!

  • This girl can sing anything :D

Sing it Alison :D Whoo Hoo

She sang it i think when I saw her in concert few years ago

  • Alison Krauss is an INCREDIBLE singer...I can't believe she did that song for such a stale crowd, though. The other singers seemed like they were trying to sing over her, which is not cool. She has one of the most beautiful voices known to humanity today, and even though she pulled this song off just fine, it doesn't showcase her voice at all if you ask me...

  • Hyannis Port Snobery, right there. Pathetic display of appreciation for an amazing bunch of musicians, right down to the tamborine man.

  • She is just awesome! I can't say that crowd deserved it, though.

  • An audience with no rhythm and no soul!

    Great song..fantastic singer!

  • @Nostradamis The audience look like a bunch of stuck up yuppies? It looks like Alison got hired to play a private gig. These people have probably never listened to Blue grass music in their lives, to busy listening to Yannie?

  • she had so much fun with this one. look at her at 2:20. its so great so see a legend like her just enjoying the hell out of herself

  • Nice version but I prefer the orignal but often imitated but not duplicated version by the Supremes with the Funk Brothers at their prme backing them. Alison Krause however has one of the most beatiful voices in music today her version of "This Time The Dream's On Me" is the best version I've ever heard. Check it out on youtube.

  • Hasnt she got a weak voice? although i like it

  • Like it...seen as the average singer she is....she is NO Judith Durham for example.

  • 26 time Grammy winner and at the top of her game.

  • she did a great job, great range for a great song

  • Oaklnad Hills was such a great host, and i can't think of a better singer to kick it all off!

  • She's nearly as good as the original but golf, (can't see the enjoyment-as Bernard Shaw said "Why waist a good walk?"

  • i love her

  • @SomniTube me too.

  • Ok, I love Phil Collins, but this is good too!:)

  • Were there ANY Supremes fans in the audience that day?!!!

  • The crowd finally got into it when the next song performed was an updated version of " I heard it through the grapevine"...retitled..".I read it on my blackberry" ....that was a toe tapper!

  • It's amazing how Allison sounds like Diana Ross on this song ,,must be why she was asked to perform on stage for this song ,

  • I agree, it looks like 90% of the crowd had no idea who she is!! I hate when I have to be like "you know that song - When you say nothing at all?" When she has such a fantastic career full of great music!

  • exactly. Its a country club audience. Not much soul in that audience, not much at all.

Rich white folks make one of the worst music audiences (sorry if I offend, but its true)

Allison is great too in this song!

  • Ive seen so many groups and singers and worked with bands for about 10/12 years Ive heard good and Ive heard bad and really good and really bad and I am no expert, its up to each one of us and our taste, what we like BUT if you know anything about music youd know that Alison can sing and sings VERY WELL and ya she is very good looking, Id do her lol the people in the crowd didnt know who Alison was or who did the original song... funny how out of time they all were too... die yuppie scum lmao

  • @crankycraig48

who you would or wouldn't fuck is your choice. yet posting that underneath a woman's musical performance and saying that based on her looks - to me - is absolutely disrespectful. i wish you had something else to write. i would mean a lot to me if people showed each other more respect.

  • alison is beautiful!

  • did like that version.. didnt like the people over there.. looks like they were bored...

  • Wow, what a rowdy bunch. I'm surprised the law wasn't called for all the ruckus those people raised!!!

  • Alison can sing any song and make it her own! She can sing rock, pop, country, bluegrass.....anything! What a talent!!!!!!!

  • @wbroger

I couldn't have put it better.

  • @wbroger

Well, she is good... But no way she made it her own. This will always be Diana's credit, no matter how good any other artist sang it.

  • Everyone knows Diana Ross can't sing, that's why all vocalist from Robert Plant, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder to Aretha Franklin I've heard equally matched, except one!

DIANA ROSS! The woman who built an industry. The Motown Sound!

  • rofl only person who looks alive in audience is the granny at 1:04, and she looks like she has 100 years. go grandma!!!!

  • @stipo666

your right about that. Even everyone on staged is looking like they don't want to be there. Maybe it's really hot? lol

  • @stipo666 She must come from the upbeat era! :D

  • good song...

  • Lol you know when they were all on stage they just had to be thinking,"Geeze is this the lamest audience ever or what"?

  • Sad, isn't it? I suspect they all have golf clubs stuck up their...yes, up there.

  • What a deadbeat audience! It's as if they've never heard Motown music before, and that was, what, FORTY years ago.

  • She can sing anythng.Always looks good doing it too. She`s class.Top of the class

  • great

  • Great singer...

  • bless her heart

  • The Girl can swing... I love Soul Music, and love some good Country singers. And this girl is one of them. It's good to see she is respecting soul with this... It's not her routes, but we can't say it's a bad performance... She was great on it.

  • Allison's fine, but the Funk Brothers made this thing work.

  • 7 CMA's AND 20 GRAMMYS...thats not a sign of a boring entertainer.

  • 26 grammy's now. She won a bunch doing close harmony with some old hard rock burn out .

  • Not a patch on DIANA ROSS

  • It's an ok version. It doesn't have that certain something...

  • Apparently there ISN'T anything she can't do musically.

  • Is there anything Alison can't do? At this point if I read the headline "Alison Krauss performs emergency surgery during concert" I wouldn't be surprised...

  • Where's the Aqua Net when ya need it? lol!!!

  • Did I see Priscilla Presley?

  • Alison was fine, the sound was the big problem... and the lack of tightness of the band......

  • many people have recorded this....best versions ..supremes, dixie chicks and phil collins...!

  • amen!!

  • Love this song xD

  • robert plant admitted to kissing phil collins. how's that for weird? if it had been any other man, my response would've been "hot!" but phil collins? ummm LOL

  • Admitted it? In the early 80's I saw the picture in Rolling Stone...and it was NT just a peck! They were in full open mouth deep kissing...... thought it would become big news with the picture being published at the height of Phils success....but have not heard of it again til now!

  • if you can ever find the pic, message me on here please!

  • never mind i found it! serious LOL

  • OMG , what a play on Old video she should not have lowered herself to do this

  • yeah, its a waste of time for a classic singer Alison Krauss performing there with the people without the nerve! only the back up singers and the company enjoys the performance. But Alison did her best though.

  • AKAUS is such an amazing artist. Too bad this song and performance are dog shit. Seems like she's struglling through this one because it's so borinzzzzzzzzzz........

Her voice is wasted on this tune.

  • The song is great. Its just some artists have not got the voice needed for great song. She makes the song boring not the other way round.

  • i think she sounds great. As for being boring, I don't think she has very bold stage presence.

Play it again. This time don't look, just listen.

  • well... atleast the old people are enjoying themselves

  • I sense racism in the tone of your comments slingblade65. For the record I blieve that Miss Krauss holds the the highest total for grammys won by a woman.

  • nobody is racist because everyone is diffrent.

  • nobodys a racist????

oh so that man that stabbed my cousin and killed him cuz he was a nigger wasnt racist!!

and the fact that i can't visit my step bother wiht out getting shot cuz im white and hes not and he lives in a ghetto neighborhood

and the fact that i have been under hundreds od hitlits and forced to relocate several times because im white! and most of my friends and family arent!

  • or how about the fact that i have watched more people die in front of my eyes then you could possibly imagine just because they were black or white or mexican or wtf ever!

    yout tell them that..

all the people who have died because they were the wrong skin color!...

  • And you did not try to save them ?

  • wow, where do you live??? I think you just have the wrong friends and family, regardless of race!

  • The song will always be Diana's.

  • Phil Collins version was a hit too. I personally like the Phil Collins version more than Diana's as it has more pep.

  • I love Alison, but this song is really not hers somehow!

  • What "shit" are you referring to?

  • This overplayed redundant oldies crap that commercial radio spews on a daily basis

  • My mother died in 1980 asshole.

  • Sorry. The comment was when I actually believed in them. Now I know that they are not real. Sorry about your loss.

  • 1:05 XDDDDDDDDD

  • 1:05 lmao

  • seduction dance?

  • hahahahah x)

  • She's is such a flawless singer, and stunning.

  • listen , somebody probably called her the day before and asked if she could sing a motown song , so its fine for short notice ,but listen to her starting to gel at 140 a pro all the way.

  • Normally i wouldn't react on -1 comments

Yet you need to credit the right person

It was the song from The Supremes and they are timeless

  • Look at this guy eat his own words, saying that you can never outdo a singer that wrote the song, then says Phil's version is better, after being spanked by the truth that it's not his original. What an idiot

  • homerboy4888

not as stupid as an fool being critical of anyone having a good time at any age.

you probably never crack a smile.

  • P.S. My favorite song by Alison is " When You Say Nothing At All". Thank you, Mylene

  • This is a great song, I'm glad Alison has sung it. I love Motown and all music. It is very nice to hear Alison Krauss sing it. I look forward to seeing Alison Krauss someday in concert. I have just heard her latest song with Rober Palmer. It is very good., though I can not right now remember the name of it. . It is very, very new.!!! My daughter's name is Alison. Very nice video! Thank you Mylene

  • I believe the man you're thinking of is actually rock legend Robert Plant.. The song you mentioned is probably "PLEASE READ THE LETTER."

If you have the chance to pick up their CD RAISING SAND, you should do it. The CD is extremely good. I was looking at a copy signed by both of them. It is extremely expensive and the Ebay auction ends less than eight hours from now. The duo won five Grammys for this CD.

  • She is awesome and if Samuel introduced her, Allison must do something!

  • just let her sing

  • Is thereajything this lady can't sing? she is absolutely wonderful

  • okay the crowd needed a big beach ball or something!!! OMG! Sh'es awesome!

  • stiff crowd

  • I prefer Phil Collins perfomance though Allison is a great singer

  • Don't get me wrong, I'm glad to see people having a good time but there are few things more embarassing or look as stupid as old people trying to rock out.

  • homer older people have raised kids, worked hard, etc., etc., they deserve to have a little fun. Show a little kindess & respect please.

  • does allison sing a bad song? voice of an angel i tell you!! an angel

  • Thats a tuff audience,TELL ME THOSE WOMEN HAD ANY CLUE!!!cardboard cutup in red uniforms.Pretty, but ya think they need too relax up a bit

  • I LUV THIS VIDEO! And OMG have you guys Seen The Most AMAZING HOT video everyone is talking about on youtube Called:

ONE MAN. ONE DREAM. ONE CHANCE.

It's the most romantic and EPIC video EVERSEEN

  • because there fricking awesome!!! kiss my

    ]

  • i see y now as your american and im english and i have never seen her before and to be honest i dont care

  • then why r u posting a comment? idiot!

  • maybe because i have gd taste in music like leds zepplin, cream and phil collins

  • What has Led Zeppelin, Cream and Phil Collins got anything to do with this video!!

  • funny you should say that, since your "good taste" in music has led you to mention led zeppelin. Don't know if you've been following their lead singer, Robert Plant's career recently, but he's recorded an entire album in duet with Alison Krauss, currently nominated for the Grammy Awards. Would you qualify him as having bad taste then?

  • im sorry but the phil collins version is so much better because it makes you feel happy unlike this one which makes me feel sad :(

  • Look cykomike. We like the english, and appreciate the bands from the u.k. as well. This is not the genre of Alison, and yes Phil Collins is always a legend. She was only trying to sing a cover of a song she was not meant to sing.

  • LOL, have you ever known a golfer that was remotely cool? They were the ones in high school that reminded the teacher she was supposed to give homework. And here they are now, arms folded, trophy wives trying to clap in time. Hilarious!!

  • As far as I'm concerned Alison Krauss is best female vocalist in America today--she CAN do anything. She sounds great here (despite problem with recording).

  • Agreed...

  • this is crap phil collins is a legand and lets keep it that way

  • Sorry but your age is showing... Diana Ross and the Supreme's made this song famous. Phil Collins did a great job but it's a song a woman should sing so lets give credit where it's due.

  • Good Job Alison

  • She's a fine singer and I think she did a respectable job and all, but I just don't think the style suits her. Her voice is unique and I like it but I prefer it with more subdued songs. More melodic. Then again, I could hear it tomorrow and it might sound differently. That's music.

  • She is a bluegrass singer and I think she probably knows this isn't her style. I'm sure someone asked her to sing this song. I thought you left a nice comment though.

  • I agree with you, the style doesn't suit her even though she manages to pull off a decent version. She tends to excel in more melodic songs but she also has an extremely powerful voice and can do some pretty surprising stuff that you wouldn't expect and sounds amazing. Check out "oh atlanta" for example. In her live concerts she does a few numbers like this, and it really blows you away...

  • the supremes are much better: diana ross Mary Wilson but more importantly FLORENCE BALLARD! look them up!

  • aint it the truth

  • They should have taken away the seats from the audience.

  • Golf and Motown don't mix. lmao. But Alison Krauss is amazing. She can do anything. I love her (my wife knows)

  • The crowd was prepped for Zombie-ness by the Mr. Dynamic Funk emcee. Way to get them goin' big guy!

  • Is there anything she cannot sing? These Ryder cups fans are like zombies. Are they even awake?

  • I can't believe Robert Plant's touring with her... Not that she's bad, but they're so... different.

  • i just love this lady, but dont tell my wife.

  • My lips are sealed, haha

  • I'm sooooo telling!!!...

  • I won't if you won't
