It would be nice if I lived far far away from city lights. The night sky would be beautiful and so full of stars. A 12" or larger dob. would be perfect!
Mike, in your mirror blank making presentation you asked for held in finding a larger kiln that the one that you purchased for $95.00. I checked craigslist and saw a few for $300.00/350.00. I don't know if that's of any help to you.
I'de like to ask you some questions regarding the overall field of scope making. My Email is jqs43@hotmail.com
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK! You're very thorough in your explanations on how you do what you do...
wow awsome I wonna own a 17.5 inch dobsonian telescope I have an 8 inch dobsonian telescope and its really good I wonder whats this one like look's awsome your a lucky guy thank you for the video take care also you should put a camera in the eye peice so people can enjoy as much as you do but really big thanks I love this video keep making them
It's a fine scope indeed. Well built and looks very sturdy. Your U.T.A is work of art. I am curious about the truss sytem , perhaps I can use some of those great ideas. My home made 16 inch could always use some tweaking here and there. Unfortunately I was unable to access the link . Thank you.
Wish i have a mirror that big lol. I have a 10" inch dob from zhumell. The sad thing is the main mirror is only like 9.75 inch's aparently this is "normal" for mirror's.. I dunno TBH..

A box shapped base for the main mirror. I'd never consider building something like that.
