The best I've got: Every 1 hour you play you'r XBOX360, turn it off and wait 20 minutes and then play it again 1 hour,turn off and wait 20 minutes and play 1 hour again and turn it off wait 20 minutes and keep repeating this process.
i have an xbox 360 and i keeped getting two flashing red lights. so i put it on a rack and put an AC like fan next to it a few weeks have passed and everything is fine then one day the same thing happened, i got 2 red lights the next time i turned it on i got 3 red lights. i took it apart and found a bunch of dust and lint so i cleaned it out but i never turned it on since.
on my xbox i play battlefield and it never overheats then i play nba 2k11 and then it overheats but it only get two redlights instead of three plz help what does that mean
tsukani22 2 redlights is better than 3. when you get 3 redlights its called the ring of death and its realy bad for your xbox. 2 redlights isnt as serious but it still interups your gameplay and eventually it can become 3 lights
also oblivion is realy bad with freezing i played for 4 hours one day grinding all my skills and it froze my music stopped and i couldnt even get the xbox360 guide up
@Juanfri2907 Leave your 360 standing up like I said is you keep on laying it down and play more than an hour it overheats quickly you can feel it for your self.If you 360 is standing up air circulation may be slow but it will keep rrod away from you trust me.Had mine since 2008 no freezes no nothing.You dont half to do what he does but if you want to you can.You can watch other rrod vids or yrod for ps3 and youll see more than 80% has there 360 laying down and there asking how did they get rrod.
@Juanfri2907 Lol I would say move it some where ealse if possible.I drop my 360 like twice trying to get out the cords from my tv but I was lucky it landed on carpet it still works no problems.Just take care of your consoles and never leave them laying down(if possible).

Don't worry about the freezing in GTA. Rockstar's games have a lot of bugs and glitches, so it's expected. That's why I don't play any of their games. :D
Can I blow my fan on the huge vent on the left? 'Cause in the video, you said that the bottom (facing up) is where it sucks in the cold air. I blow an external fan on the huge vent and will that send in cool air?
Why not put your xbox on a laptop/notebook cooler?... i did it with my xbox and it keeps it cool!... you guys should try it too. use the USB port at the back of the x box for the power source!

@GorgeousGiggles95 The new xbox can't get the RROD anymore cuz they actually fixed the problem and combined the GPU and CPU into one single unit. However it can get the red dot of death which just means the HDD has wiggled loose. With xbox you have to keep it in a well ventelated area becuase it does take in quite a bit of air. Im not exactly sure whats causing this but it may be faulty system.. :(

Well dude, yes the air comes in from the right and out the back, but really you want a open space for your xbox, and the more high off the ground it is the more air it will get for it, also you should put a fan on the right side and more air can go in it, this will help it keep cool.
@Game360Game That's what I do. I set up a little desk fan to blow air into the right side of my xbox. So far I've had it for a year and it seems to be running smooth. Sometimes I can game up to 7 hours straight (I play in Madden tourneys) too. I think the constant air flow from the fan really makes the difference. It helps push the hot air out.
@5665boomer it comes only with the newer models of the xbox 360 not the slim but some arcade and elite systems but what it does is that it reduces the risk of getting the red ring of death and uses less power and it will not overheat as much my system is always cool i use the Nyko Intercooler TS in black and i elevate my xbox with 2 VCR tapes 1 on each side so the way the xbox is cool on the bottom and your xbox will live longer

ok what causes the RROD is the chips inside under the inter cooler separate from the cooler itself causing the board to bow and other shit basically the x-brace is worthless and useless my suggestion is to buy the 2 xcm fans that sit inside i have them and the talismoon fan nothing but cold air works better than before no-skipping or freezing the power brick is separate from the xbox never had a problem with it before
@hkidd5 the xbox had RROD then its fixable EASY there are videos all over here bout repairing it fixing it for good its caused by the mother board bowing and the chips detaching from the cooler inside
guys if you really want to cool it, get a pelican fan stand, i have a review on it in my video, its a really cheap way to cool your xbox and prevent red rings

you shouldnt have all those wires in that power strip it will overload the circuit and your xbox will shut down. you should also have it in a well ventilated area, keep a fan behind it to the side blowing the hot air away

I bought a nyko intercooler ts. Twice i've bought it. for some reason it doesn't work with me. It starts off fine then after like 30-1 hour of gameplay it shuts off. i know it senses if its hot or not and it stops if it isn't.... but after that it just stays off nor matter what. So my 360 ends up getting hotter then without the intercooler. It doesnt stay on after the 360 is turned off either. So do you got an suggestions to why this may be happening?

all you do is just go to ebay and buy 3 fans in a white case that clips onto the back of your 360.
when u get it you plug i ino the back and plug the power cord in and it works better then voiding your warranty

After I am done playing, I go to the xbox and any dust on top of it or around it I wipe it off with a cloth so then their is no dust buildup.

ok what causes the RROD is the chips inside under the inter cooler separate from the cooler itself causing the board to bow and other shit basically the x-brace is worthless and useless my suggestion is to buy the 2 xcm fans that sit inside i have them and the talismoon fan nothing but cold air works better than before no-skipping or freezing the power brick is separate from the xbox never had a problem with it before

@hkidd5 the xbox had RROD then its fixable EASY there are videos all over here bout repairing it fixing it for good its caused by the mother board bowing and the chips detaching from the cooler inside

guys if you really want to cool it, get a pelican fan stand, i have a review on it in my video, its a really cheap way to cool your xbox and prevent red rings

@Xmohab It doesn't matter. Just because you're keeping it upside down nothing prevents the air from reaching the holes.

@Jaded92 im sorry but you just said that nothing prevents the air reaching the holes yet common sense says laying it upside down will and your correct with keeping the xbox in a ventilated area and on its side instead of upright but it will still get the red ring of death eventually the best way to prevent it is in my comment above..BUY XCM FANS THAT GO INSIDE trust me blows cool air out deff. helps

you shouldnt have all those wires in that power strip it will overload the circuit and your xbox will shut down. you should also have it in a well ventilated area, keep a fan behind it to the side blowing the hot air away

DO NOT USE AN INTERCOOLER its supposed to cool the inside but all the hot air is collected between the intercooler and the back of the xbox and melts the back and can damage your motherboard!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

LOL ROFL! When you mentioned keeping the brick power bit off carpet, mine had been on carpet for a year! And the bit about not playing too long, I did the 7 day survivor achievement on dead rising last week which took me 14 straight hours :O.

I bought a nyko intercooler ts. Twice i've bought it. for some reason it doesn't work with me. It starts off fine then after like 30-1 hour of gameplay it shuts off. i know it senses if its hot or not and it stops if it isn't.... but after that it just stays off nor matter what. So my 360 ends up getting hotter then without the intercooler. It doesnt stay on after the 360 is turned off either. So do you got an suggestions to why this may be happening?
