Actually, it's more likely because Century Media don't feel they get ENOUGH money through Spotify for it to be worth it. And that's probably not unfair.
But I know plenty of people (myself included) who use Spotify to find new artists to buy and see live. So they're alienating a lot of potential fans that way.
Also, why is the sound quality of that podcast so crappy?
Oh and the announcer dude was way too cheesy.

All of the money generated through promo codes goes directly to each artist that was played on the episode of that month. I used to think it was a commercial move until I got all of the details. It's about helping the Century Media Artists not the Label.
