  • You have a really nice show. Do you think you could include the American measurements in your recipies? I understand that I could look them up but it makes it easier when I am listening to you to hear you say it in imperial measurements as well.

  • my hero

  • Made this last night....very good, indeed! Very easy and fast to prepare. Great recipe!!

  • Not to be confused with the traditional cake from the Madeira island. The English call it "Madeira cake" because it's usually served with Madeira wine, the Portuguese call it "Tea cake" because it's usually served with Tea and spread with a bit of butter.

  • OMG i was thinking of making this cake for my mom but i didnt have the recepie and wow you done one, thx mate gonna try this at the weekend , thax for sharing lol x

  • I learned a trick with butter today! if you forget to leave your butter out, grate the amount you need with a cheese grater. It gives it more surface area and lets it warm up faster.

  • @prettyinpunk666 - That's a great tip! Thanks for sharing!

  • Can we add some bananas?

  • Is that cake like Sponge cake???

    Just a thought. :)

BTW, Nicko. Please make some " Angel Food Cake". Thank you! :)

  • australian butter looks alot better than american butter

  • @bobsamurai Na, NZ butter all the way

  • this is absolutly fantastic

  • in the united states we call this a puond cake (because if you eat this it will put the pounds on you...lol)

  • @HammyLover55 that's a bit... disgusting to post on a video about food.

  • a childhood fav! ahh so many memories! thanks nicko! I remember that the Madeira cake I used to buy had a thicker layer on top.. Any ideas on how to make it the same way?

  • hard butter is a beast to mix into anything ( try buttering a piece of cold bread with cold butter) let it sit on a warm counter for a hour or so first..

  • im following Bakery at school an you are doing it good

  • Why don't we want it hard?

  • @Rancidknewl hard butter is a BITCH to incorperate into your other ingredients.

  • @Rancidknewl you want it softened or melted because it is much easier to cream and to mix. Also, it will not produce clumps in your mixture. You usually want to use cold butter when you are cutting the butter in flour or any dry mixture to create coarse crumbs.

  • @Rancidknewl thats what she said

  • @Rancidknewl Because hard butter is a complete asshole to mix with your other ingredients

  • nice cake looks perfect :)

  • more like a bread in my opinion

  • It looks really good, but it also looks a little dry. Was it, or is it actually really moist?

  • Nicko is back! Yeah!

  • yummy!

  • pie is better than cake but it's still good :D

  • This looks delicious!
