  • i prefer turbo because i have one and i love how hard it pulls when i hit boost. mostly all on preference and i would say a supercharger is a lot easier to install than a turbo. but i would say a turbo is more rewarding. just my point of view. you'd love both no matter which one you'll pick. ha trust me.

  • It depends. Superchargers give a good range overall, but it takes power to make power. A turbo on the other hand, is harder to install, requires immediate tuning, and has a higher fail rate then a supercharger. Also, superchargers require less maintenance, pretty much just set it and forget it for a year.

    The supercharger is by far the easiest to install. If its your first time with boost, go Supercharger. Later down the road, switch to a turbo, see which one you like better.

    I prefer the SC.

  • Hi, did you had any problem with intake temperature?

    I´m asking because I instaled a JRSC for D16 with a 3.8 pulley and the intake and supercharger temperature runs on 95 degress Celsius and the ECU turnoff the engine for security.

    Did you have the same problem with this kit?

  • Hondata has an intake gasket that magically drops your intake temp. by tons. $50 from Moss Motors in Cali.

  • Try this, turn your steering wheel all the way to the right, notice anything? How about turning your ac on full blast, notice anything? Your crank drives the s/c and takes a lot of power from it to do that... Turbos are usually cheaper, and your helping out the environment. :))) And in todays world... we need that

  • the other guys info has nothing to do with your belts at all lol but you may want to check your belt tensioner and make sure water pump, a/c , and alternator are torqued to spec, also there is a tool out there to check the tension of your belt but the hard part would be finding the spec for the right tension

    550 cc injectors tuning headers exhaust a few more nick nacks and i ate dohc;s all day 240 hp

  • You are a tool. Engine swaps aren't the best answer. While you have a better engine after spending all that money, you just have a better stock engine. A B18C swap costs $3000+, and will still only have 130tq at a bazillion rpms. In otherwords, gutless.

    Spend that money on a turbo, and a boosted D16 will have good torque for a 1.6, and make it in the midrange, while coming close to matching the B18's power. A supercharger would do this even better, giving boost at lower rpms.

  • Dude are you serious, a d16 motor will fall apart before you even put it together you cant even do shit with it man, O mu god you have a little t3/t4 turbo that together gives you not even close to 160hp well in my opinion & plus no body cares about SOCH engines real Vtec owners have DOCH engines from B series to K series, a SOCH enging couldn't even handle more the like 12psi with out upgrades, shit just get a Bseries and basically you'll just spen as much ass you did upgrading the D16.

I swaped my 94' electric blue eg coupe with a B16 motor K20 trans and a T66 turbo and many more mods and I can guarantee that the long hard labor was worth the while

  • Arsenal...first off, if you bolt a B16 engine onto a K20 transmission, most likely the engine will be facing backwards. Second, if you can truly show me how you custom bolted a B16 to a K20 drivetrain, I will be pleasantly amazed at your fabrication. I would also like to see how you managed to fit a custom intake manifold and exhaust header onto a backwards facing B16. Perhaps you are running ITBs? Pics or video will be nice too. SOCKS and DOCKS aside, have a nice day.

  • Money is not a factor when it comes to VTEC lovers I love my civics, iv had a Type-R, K20, H22's, B18 but I dont have them any more i love civics to death but I grw up and got me a 98' Supra 8 months ago and if you want to talk abut HP then shit ill fuck your little 1.6L with my fully built WOTM 3.4L Stroker with a brand new GT47-88 turbo pushing 56psi and shit thats serious horse power right know im at 1423HPS at 50psi's and yes i am way above your class boy, my RB26 S13 will demolish u 2 LOL
