  • Hello guys..! Jack Thammarat is a fucking awesome guitarist..! He is a god..

  • I feel so special right now because my name is Dorian lol

  • Shit.. This is really nice.. I just started to learn about modes and chords, someday im gonna play as good as you..

  • YOU ARE MY IDOL!!!! I WANT TO PLAY LIKE YOU!!

  • bad comments are available for skeptics, frustrated persons and idiots while good comments are by intelligent and good men. just saying...! i'm a skeptic of skeptics.

  • Frank Gambale signature? Cool!

  • @GuillermoSmyser

Have you seen the Ibanez ones? they look so cool!

  • @D1vid3By0 Yeah I love the Ibanez Frank signatures. I'm a big fan of the S series in general. I have an EGEN18 Herman Li signature that is almost perfect. It takes a real man to play a pink or yellow guitar like he did, haha!

  • @GuillermoSmyser

Yea, i'm not a huge fan of herman li but his guitar is certainly amazing. Frank was too cool to worry about playing a pink guitar, man the stuff he plays... I'm not a huge Gambale fan (not my predominate style) but he is really underrated. He deserves much more attention.

    I have a 1989 RG550, it's my favorite guitar.

  • YOU RE AMAZING!!!!PLEASE SEND ME THAT TRACK!!!

    luke77@interfree.it

  • wow this guy is fucking perfect guitar player

  • 3:28-3:35, definitely some David Gilmour in there. Awesome!

  • @PinktheFloyd Sounds like Dogs to me :)

  • yea it's key C/A/F/Ab right ?

  • @higher99

The notes are the same, but it's better if you play that as a Dorian mode on D, on B, on G and on Bb to get the right sound.

  • your are awesome

  • bravo! i really like the "steve vai" sounding harmonic wammy things or whatever they're fancy name is, very abstract sounding, but soothing.

i bet you went on for another 5 minutes er so even after the video ended too!

  • Dorian mode with a lot of chromatic?

  • what does this man eat???

  • @tintinex ooman flesh >:O

  • @tintinex petrucci satch vai johnson malmsteen wannabes for breakfast ;)

  • good job dude

  • 3:29 how he did this? (:

  • @lKnOxZz you just flick the tremolo bar a bit so that it keeps bouncing

  • i'm just amazed that this is improvised

  • Dam I wish I could play this style. jazzy. my improvise shit always sounds the same

  • @Deanosius me to sometimes i wonder why i have a guitar... or 3

  • What guitar is that?

  • @seankhn thats frank gambales signature yamaha aesfg. quite rare and very expensive. im dying to own one.

  • Best I've seen, and what like is you find something new in every pass!!!

  • (: love this!!!!!

  • สุดยอดจิงๆ

  • LOL hey jack! is that a bottle of water, an iced tea, and a wine glass on top of the uhm amp? moisture does wonder to electronics. just kidding.

  • @arielasentista its the secret to his tone....

  • Jack frets notes just as Buckethead....Excellent company to have....I just need a CD's worth of Jacks playing to quench my thirst....AWESOME!

  • Our friend Jack plays on

Dm7/9...DEFGABCD ( C major ) with Dminor melodic..licks .Dminor blues pentatonic ...after that continue with

    Bm7/9 ..( A major ) Bminor Mélo Bm blues

    Gm7/9 ( F major ) Fminor M elodic

    Bbm7/9 (Ab major ) Bb minor Melo ..B b minor blues ..

and great jazz fusion feeling too !

  • sounds great!

  • thanks a lot for the backing track!!!!!!

    this is awesome!!!!!

  • Cool solo. You are very talented guitarist.

  • ^

    ^

    Ha ha ha

  • bella progressione e bella chitarra (modello frank gambale).adoro il modo dorico

  • that is kinda racist... but in part you are right

  • This guy is really quite a good player -

I mean a great player. Wow!

  • He wouldn't be a guitar idol if he weren't good=)

  • D to D in the key of c major parent scale. this gives you the chord tones and a natural 6 which is pretty much the signature sound for dorian. He simply applies this same mode to every chord change most of the time.

  • sweetness

  • dorian change means he stays in dorian but he switches keys with ever chord change.. so instead of soloing in the key of the progression he solos in the key of each chord.

  • @g1taro how does he switch keys i thought the chord tones were all tones from one key

  • Every guitarist or musician who plays an musical instrument (drums, piano, saxophone, guitar, violin, etc) have their own style which they developed from various other musicians that influence them in that type of musical genre. Most accomplished musician have the discipline in their emphasis on the flow of their methods to hit a melodic riff or a descending or ascending arpeggio or type of musical scale. As musicians, we should respect each other for learning a discipline is never an easy task

  • the backing track reminds me of "dogs" by pink floyd

  • What is "Dorian Change" ?

I try to search from internet but can not find answer

  • its a scale type. *sigh*

  • @MrPintGlass It's a mode of the major scale.

  • @MrPintGlass actually its a mode but nvm.

  • @freddy692000 I posted that a year ago :L, and i wasn't incorrect lol, yea you're right it's a mode, but that itself is a type of scale....a modal one.

  • @MrPintGlass yeah dude no offense just saying...

  • @MrPintGlass what's wrong with a scalar orientation to improvising?

  • @ImperialArmour was a repky to another comment asking what dorian is :)

  • its a chord sequence in the dorian mode.

  • Just like almostoriginal691 said, just take minor chords and add a 7, and in each chord just use the dorian mode and its all.

  • The Dorian mode is named after the Dorian Greeks. Applied to a whole octave, the Dorian octave species was built upon two tetrachords separated by a whole tone. In the diatonic genus, this is the same as playing all the white notes of a piano (ascending, as in the modern reckoning) from E to E: E F G A | B C D E. Dorian change means he is shifting notes on the Dorian mode scale.

  • ehhhhhhh wrong. That's phrygian. Dorian starts on D.

    (fail)

    just kidding.

  • jack is awesome but on improvisations like this one, he lacks a lot of feeling, hes just throwing a bunch of scales and phrases over and over........and that probes that melodical shreding, and shreding with feeling are completely different things.....

  • @chaggo21 so what???

  • This sounds very like greg howe!!!! Go jazz fusion!!!

  • i agree. the phrasing and note choice reminded me alot of howe, which is a good thing of course :D

  • He looks serious ,does he ?

  • This is most enjoyable.

  • what guitar is that?

  • Frank Gambale`s Yamaha signature guitar

  • Your greatttt

  • reminded me of Dogs by Pink Floyd.. there was jst a vibe

  • u sucker! I wish to hear you playing like that ...I beg you don´t even know what the dorian change is!!

  • i wasnt saying hes shit....... i think hes overated in my opinion....... and dorian is a minor scale with a sharp 6..... and the 2nd step of the major scale

  • Wow until you post a video playing half as good as Jack, you need to leave immediately.

  • Not a sharp 6th as a sharp 6th implies augmented - tis a major 6th :D

    A minor scale with a major 6th ;)

  • look at his other videos dickhead. Hes not overated

  • @rentapec nah....that's why you got so many negative comment..

  • Whenever I want to relax, I just open one of Jack Thammarat's videos on YouTube ! :D It's just amazing :)

  • me too.

  • awesome !!

  • โอ้ยยย สุดยอดดดเลยพี่

  • awesome

  • You sure know your way around the fretboard. ;)

    Great stuff.

  • The soloing was awesome in this one. But... 5:46 is just too long for a solo (unless you're Mike Stern [look up the song "Signs"]. I'd like to hear you come up with some good hooks, melodies etc for this. I think you'd be pretty good at it.

    [thumbs up]
