I think I've owned every one in the range, except the CZ1, which I couldn't find for sale at the time, maybe because it was the flagship. There's a few good free software emulators for this keyboard which will even load the sysex data from the original.
TOP QUALITY DEMO, from someone who has taken the time to program the thing. Well done. Also the demo is musical. Just got a CZ-3000 so quite excited about how far you can go beyond the presets now!
very nice vid ! the factory sounds were bad , but with this machine you could do every sound possible to imagine , even complete drumset sounds ; played this monster until the "square knobs " failed in their function ! would love to have it back , maybe as a software ?
I'm digging your style. The CZ is also great for atmospheric, huge pads and strings. It may not seem like it's built for those types of sounds at first, but play around for awhile and you will see. You can make Prophet-sounding evilness with this machine. Just ripping atmospheric stuff. I love the CZ synths.
Just got a CZ-5000 at a rummage sale with a Pro stand for $20!!!!! The only thing wrong with it so far is the chorus slider makes clicks and pops. I had an AN1x back in 1997 that did the same thing and it was because a hanging daughter board didn't connect to the main board it fried the board trashed the keyboard in 2005. (outrage) I hope this Casio lasts for a LONG time!!! I'm loving it it's a lot better than the an1x.
@ActivityRadio Look for a CZ-1 or a CZ-5000. Those are the two coolest ones. The CZ-101 is also cool because of its size, but not as complex as the CZ-1 or CZ-5000.
@luvnplster Thank you! Just got the CZ-1 in yesterday. It sounds pretty cool! However, it may need a cleaning. A bit dirty from an ebay seller. :( No cartridge, but I may have found someone that knows how you can make your own. I want to start programming and storing my own sounds instead of the presets. This synth will Not sound cheap if you spend some time with it. It can really create some verrrrrrrrrrrrrrry unique tones
@luvnplster The CZ1 is definitely the ultimate and most powerful CZ, though surprisingly they don't seem to go for much over the other CZ's. The 5000 is the same as the 3000 with an added onboard sequencer. With most people using computer based recording and sequencing, the 5000 is not worth more than the 3000. The CZ 101 is the cutest because of its size and often the most expensive. It only has half the polyphony of the bigger CZs though as does the 1000. They're all good & unique synths!
@snolan1990 Thank you very much for your comment.
I didn't have keyboards except this one, so i had to devised to create sounds and tracks as a result.
Perhaps I think it was a good environment to learn CZ or PD or Synthesizers.

Dude 37 seconds to 120 is superb-You have to make an album of stuff like that :)
Very TRS-80 Boards of Canada etc.
Superb work.

The last 30 seconds of this is pure and utter bliss... you should make a full track out of it.
In fact, this sounds like HIGHLIGHTS from a GREAT ambient techno album that I would be happy to buy... o.O
(It's also convinced me to get one of these synths!)

Hi @SPFXsynthesisers , I'm sorry for the late reply.
Thank you so much for your comment.
That track was made with CZ-5000's sound only.
but the rhythm track is overdub on PC. So cowbell sounds are panning and delayed.
It was pretty hard to make this cowbell sound....

It's a lot easier to program than a DX7.

Hi @stellarartwars07
I think the ease of making sound was just a selling point of CZ.
the software is awesome! these days are now conveniently.

I've one of these in storage, still with the original manual and 3 or four of the memory cards for storing patches. Must get it out and give it a go!

Hi @SciFiFunk , THank you!
I think CZ-5000 is different from the other CZ series.
CZ-5000 is an advantage of 8-track sequencer.
It was the start of the today's workstations.
This is very simple but very useful.
WheelRock1 2 months ago
The soundtrack to this movie is from the casio?
Really?
I had one of these when they first came out, but never got it sounding anywhere as good as this. It just did crummy brass portastudio sounds.

Yamaha AN1X, I think a very good Analog-modeling synthesizer.
Also CZ, old musical instruments from it, take care to use!
