I fail to see how a comedian covering another comedians joke is any different from a new singer on the block covering a song from the 1960's. This happens every day except it's usually just the older generations that notice because they were around when the original was sung.

@noreplyism Let me explain the difference. Typically a song that's covered is a famous one, therefore everyone KNOWS it's a cover and it is accepted as such. In other cases, when it is not a popular song, the original artist is always given credit in one way or another.
Comedy is not nearly as popular and well known as music and therefore it is easy for a comic to steal a joke and not credit the inventor of the joke.

Okay this is where I draw the line. George Carlin was an amazing comedien and one of my favorites. It was obviously stolen. He used the same verse Carlin did. Mencia officially pisses me off. Him putting it on his show and having another actor say it has the same exact meaning....THEFT!

@ciresaru94 The best part of this video is the fans who try to come up with excuses for blatant plagiarism. It wasn't an homage and he wasn't forwarding an old joke. Not only was it stolen but it was butchered by the needless shrieking afterward. Being inspired and copying entirely word for word are two completely different things. Lewis Black was inspired by him. Mencia doesn't have any actual good original jokes. That's why he was canceled. Too many evident cases of plagiarism.
