@ColorfulLetters Because if he just touch it then everytime someone will touch -accidentally- the screen will turn on ex. when many people want to see photos and someone touch it. It would be annoying for me. I think it's quite clever from it.

Nice camera but dont like the way you have to bang the front screen to turn it on, he had to tap it quite hard. finger marks look bad . does not look great for longterm use.
i need a camera for fishing to take pictures of my self. going to go for one of the cannons with the sreen that comes away and turns around to the front to take self takes.
I got the camera for xmas, its nice, i would still like one with a flip round screen but they cost alot more. not had any trouble with the front screen it always comes on easily. the touch screen is the best i have used.
does it seriously take that long to take a freakin picture? 0.0

You really aren't familiar to touchscreens are you? You can't tap it with your fingernails, and definetly not that hard, please...

At 0:01 it says TS550.. It is the ST550 and the ST550 does not have 10x Zoom or 8 Mpix.
It's 4,6 optical zoom and 12,2 Mpix. It also says so on the camera itself. Easy to see at 0:01.
