It happens the same to me. I have a Core 2 Quad Q8200 2.33GHz and a GTS 250 512MB and 2GB and it runs almost always at 60FPS but when I turn 3D vision it goes down to 20-30FPS (1440x900 and everything high)
@anthoney987654321 Yes in 720p it should work reasonable with GTX260 (assuming you have highly overclocked dual core or mildly overclocked quad core processor).
I'm waiting for Nvidia's DX11 card, everyone is rushing out to get the 5870, but it doesn't have 3D Vision, and I'm sure you will agree that 3D gaming is wicked (Although I'm currently using crappy red & blue glasses for it) lol
I'm hoping they outperform the 5870, and then when 3D Vision is enabled, maybe it will be on par with the 5870, or maybe just a little lower in the FPS department, still worth the sacrifice to play in 3D :-)
yeah, but it seems that NO ONE is talking about 3D Vision...did it die or something? I think it's the best thing to happen to PC's and everyone is just like "meh"
everyone is going out of their mind after seeing the 5870, it seems like they have no idea about "3D Vision" I think Nvidia should throw in some red & blue glasses with their video cards, to remind them they can play in 3D, I wouldn't have found out about it if I didn't think to try it with those glasses.
You are right, but 3D Vision lives and is used. There are special games such as Resident Evil 5 and Batman Arkham Asylum that are specially crafted to support Nvidia 3D Vision.
Nvidia gives now red blue glasses with some cards as gift and the valuable game Batman Arkham Asylum. It is cool.
However Nvidia graphics adapters are for now old obsolete featureless stuff. So it is better tow wait for GTX300.
@adampope64 They are using the IZ3D monitor, which is VERY glossy, impossible to use in bright environments, and they use the polarized glasses which has been shown to have more "Ghosting" issues, when compared to Nvidia's 3D Vision kit, they say that 3D Vision is much better, and I can believe it, I have it now, and it's very sharp, a little bit of ghosting on some games, but a lot of games look perfect.
so I would still go with Nvidia for this reason (nothing against ATI)
@TreckCZ wow that didnt help alot, one last question. Do you need any downloads, special to play reisdent evil 5 in 3d? :D

will the gts 250 do,with core2duo??
iamarjunmehta 10 months ago
@iamarjunmehta if you mean 3D Vision, you will have to lower details and resolution, non 3D Vision gameplay should be relatively OK with gts 250

@anthoney987654321 It is GTX 295, but problem with this game is CPU, because it is CPU dependent and I have only dual core.

@TrekCZ i Have a gtx 260 do you wreckon that it will be able to cope with 3D vision at 720p?

I installed Nvidia 191.03 drivers and it is better now - there is increase of 10fps in fixed benchmark so the game is playable in stereo.
But your idea is good, you must buy very powerfull card otherwise you will have very low fps in stereo and unplayable games.

yeah, I wouldn't get another DX10 video card, even if the GTX 295 hit $200, well maybe, lol
but yeah, I'm definitely waiting for the GTX300.
it's gonna blow away the 5870 anyways, from what I have heard.
can't wait to see the benchies :-)

@1981z28camaro
The 3D vision Technology is used in Bluray 3D and the Ps3.
Zephyrnix 1 year ago
@Zephyrnix well the PS3 isn't yet capable of it, not for a couple more months I believe (When it gets it's next firmware update)
as for PC, PC has had it for a while now. (The benefit of owning a PC)
