  • mgk the return

  • before eminem released the slim shady Lp with Dre he released the slim shady Ep without Dre.....and on the Slim Shady Ep there were allready a few songs on it that r also on the slim shady LP....so he changed his style allready before Dre started working with him

  • Well the reason why we white rappers do the college scene is cuz no one takes us seriously as thugs. But i totally agree and love DeadEndHipHop. If you guys wanna see the next great rapper up to blow check me out at my channel. I'm not about the poppy shit but about hard true lyrics and making it on my own.

  • Its crazy. Eminem was the first rapper I was ever a fan of. Before him I barely even listened to music. I was walking in the park one day and saw his Marshall Mathers LP layin in the dirt and I took it home played it and was never the same! Oh I was 11 years old

  • @gmf20002 REally? Wow, that must'of been a good memory.

  • there was no mainstream in the 80's

  • I'm white and when I hear a white rapper talking about how hard their life is, I just think that it sounds like the story of a piece of trailer trash who gets undeserved attention. There are great white rappers on the underground. I hate every white mainstream artist, but I hate most mainstream artists so my opinion is probably a piece of shit. Oh yeah, Fuck Eminem.

  • Well I could say, we ARE still the face of hip hop. What do racist white people think when they see a black guy?...........Hip hop. Hip hop is currently like the job market. People think we're taking all the jobs, but we're not. Niggas can't get NO cheese! Not even in hip-hop.

Yeah, we ARE losing. Almost any time I see a black dude in a battle with a white dude, the white dude KILLS him.

A nigga could be the ILLest, but if the "Party Rockers" don't feel him, he ain't gettin a deal.

  • @BeastNation2009 they cant get over being superior to the black race sad part is we been brainwash to think were inferior, but yet they still battle to be superior.

  • Hey Myke. I'm white. and I have never heard of Riff Raff, till you mentioned him. So I saw this dude and heard him for the first time. Dude, I almost fucking puked my guts out. Oh my God. This guy was so bad. He has got to be the biggest fucking poser that I have ever seen.....

  • @FukNewSkool

Its the truth,Why are all these black KIDS running around with cargos, polos, trucker hats,..the illuminati wants em all to be sheep...Im stating facts from what i see and hear,...you know what horrorcore is?,..check it out, real shit

  • Blacks 90% of the time rap about $ blahblahblah etc,

White rappers on MTV suck, underground rappers...now..are better than 90% of (W)black rappers

Give me 1 black rapper that doesnt rap about money, hoes, being a wannabe thug, having everything, rims, glasses, bricks, and says uhh and use the same techo queer voice, and being poor trynna be a hustler...can you??? Dont think so

  • @SkidplateBowl0fBeans You seem to be very narrow minded. It doesn't take much to find black's that don't rap about the things you listed. Shad comes off the top of the dome. I'm not sure why I even bother responding to your comment. It's hard to fix ignorance.

  • @SkidplateBowl0fBeans Add-2, One-Be-Lo, Jean Grae, Mos Def, yU, Hassaan Mackey, Finale just to name some off the top of my head.

  • @SkidplateBowl0fBeans I can give you a black rapper who doesn't talk about all of that...D-Dand. You've probably never heard of him, he's in the group Pyramids and they are true hip hop. You can check out his music on my page...I'm not trying to spam, I'm just saying don't let other rappers change your perception of what rap is all about. Some people are still keeping it real

  • @PM2126 Talib

  • @SkidplateBowl0fBeans Pharoahe Monch

  • @SkidplateBowl0fBeans not that difficult

  • where the fucks my tshirt

  • interesting, the marketing point is soo true

  • J Cole raps about college and his black and his dope so I don't think it matters if ur black or any other race but as long as u rap real shit people will like u

  • Check out Europe Hip-Hop culture. I'm spanish and 80% of relevant rappers are white. It really depends on the place.

  • Myke C gets it

  • @jeremykao2: yeah, I can respect that...

  • UUUUUUUUHHHHHHH I HOPE YOU GUYS RESPOND TO THIS BUT WHY CANT WE ELIMENATE WHITE RAPPERS AND BLACK RAPPERS AND JUST BE RAPPERS , PERIOD!!!! PLEASE THUMBS UP

  • @ninjamonkeybird no shit man, this whole white/black rapper thing is bullshit. If you spit, you spit, period.

  • @Ballaticianaire Eminem...really? his last 3 albums have been trash and it's quite obvious

he doesn't have anything worthwhile to say anymore. His flow and delivery is not what it used to be, and he's also an epic sellout...the same kind of artists he was making fun of back in his heyday are the ones he's making tracks with...don't be surprised to see him and Katy Perry team up soon. And have you even listened to the guys I listed? Come back on YouTube when you have.

  • @BinaryStarofShaolin idk man. I love RA Scion/Common Market as well as Sage and Brother Ali. But he does have some what of a point. Just b/c his last couple of albums have been average (at best), it can't take away from what he did w/ his other pieces of work. Not to mention if it weren't for him everyone you listed (except Aesop) might not have been as accepted as they already are.

  • plus black artist old and new still have a big influence in indie hip hop.even artist like Nas who is mainstream has a big liking and respect from the indie underground hip hop heads bc he is that damn good lol alot of whats hip hop classics are influenced by young artist today in indie.blackstar who still plays shows to this day.hell look @ Paid Dues festival and Rock the Bells.MAc miller aint no headline Wutang still bring in more crowds.but i love how hip hop is being more diverse than ever.

  • the burbs were more open to em and his crazy ass lyrics.like odd future for example. burb kids are more into them and skaters while inner city and such are like wtf is his crazy ass talking about.and idk about the white indie dominating bc mac miller is the only one doing things, i like him bc he is tru to hip hop and can write some lyrics. but even he isn't big everywhere bc he isnt mainstream and too many people follow other artist like Kendrick Lamar, Big KRIT (old wiz khalifa) lol.

  • I cant see anyone being so much on top of indie bc its only a few who dig you.in mainstream hip hop millions of people follow artist like wayne and jay z you see them everywhere.in indie only a few hundred thousands(guessing) follow and they are broken down to who likes who.then on that eminem debate. i grew up in cali in the burbs and in the inner city, people in the city didnt dig em so much not bc his skin but bc his rhymes are crazy and they didnt relate to that style.burbs did dig it.

  • They are absolutely right abt everything besides when they said MGK and Mac miller are "clean-cut college rappers" lol ... You wanna see a ridiculous white rapper wit his own style? Peep my page! You don't gotta subscribe or like shit! Just listen and watch

  • Top 5 Best White Rappers of All Time:

    1. Slug (half black)

    2. Sage Francis

    3. Brother Ali

    4. Aesop Rock (hate me.)

    5. RA Scion

  • @BinaryStarofShaolin No. Eminem destroys those.

  • You know why this convo got so confusing at the end? Not one person, if I'm not mistaken, used the word "number"

    Dope webisode!

  • whats the beat??

  • @mafiaboy28 Negro please! We've got very fast internet speeds in Uganda. I work in a telecom in Uganda so I know better. Don't be quick to stereotype or judge.

  • I'm white, but i would have to say that i judge a lot of white rappers and do not give the time to appreciate their music as a would a black rapper. This is not because of any prejudices, i just automatically believe that white rappers are no good. Thanks for pointing out this mentality, which i think is quite common in many hip hop fans, and is certainly a mentality I hold. I will try to change this.

p.s. keep up the good work

  • Myke C was so fucking dead on! The industry is in to taking black people that talk about those lifestyle things & making us dance & look like monkey's. Supposedly Riff Raff is & should be on his way to the mainstream since he's with Soulja Boy but idk that's another story. Rappers & Rap is probably will bust out of these general ways of thinking. What's next, gay rappers? But some independent black underground kids are coming up & Independent mainstream artist like Tko Capone

  • @LoveFuturePresent please "afrocentric living is a big shrug".

  • @DavidF89999 Afrocentric ?

  • @LoveFuturePresent "It is a response to perceived global (Eurocentric/Orientalist) racist attitudes about African people and their historical contributions and revisits their history with an African cultural and ideological focus." *limited excerpt from wikipedia's definition of afrocentrism* it's usually linked with reverse-racism.

  • @DavidF89999 cool stuff

  • White rappers are always gonna get more recognition, I don't know why. I haven't heard a white rapper that I liked since Mac Miller & that was before he was famous, after that my attraction to his music died instantly. I would look at it being the same with female rappers and especially white female rappers, it's getting ridiculous cause V-Nasty, Kreayshawn, Iggy Azalea. People jump on the bandwagon so fast. Rap aint shit no more less it's underground.

  • @LoveFuturePresent White People will get more recognition in music because there are still more whites than any other race in America so anything relating to them will get noticed quickly but now the younger generation of whites listen to whites or blacks mainstream or underground. I hope hip-hop doesn't happened like Rock happen though because that will be crazy

  • I tell all my ppl out here in L.A about @deadendhiphop and we all agree you guys are great and know your stuff. Keep it up guys, much love out here in Cali

  • lol thsi is dumb as hell like the 2nd dude said if hes dope hes dope

  • The 1 minute intro - no thanks, youtube here, we want it fast and now. Still love ya,s

  • @tblaxxable if your internet connection isnt from Uganda, you probably can just skip it and stop crying.

  • @mafiaboy28 thanks twat.

  • It seems to me that hip hop heads are more critical of White rappers than they are of Black rappers.White rappers are often held to a higher degree of skill than Black rappers. In my experiences whenever skilled White rappers appeared on the hip hop scene they often receive the same amount of recognition as mediocre Black rappers.

  • @chrmunoz idk i think that works both ways

  • Would be dope if you guys review classic hip hop albums. Or dutch hip hop albums i wouldn't mind translating them. XD

  • ..you guys are saying that an artist like mac miller portrays images of a "smart" rapper? Dude rhymes about some ignorant stuff just like his black counterparts. smoking weed, drinking alcohol and a ton of misogyny. its not black or white, its grey area in there. If Mac didn't know Benjy Grinberg, he wouldn't have the type of success that he currently has.

  • @Rollothemodel they're not saying so much that he's smart, but more that his music is really more for college kids.

  • @Rollothemodel "Like Mac Miller?" "Yeah, Like Asher Roth, Mac Miller and MGK. The happy party white rapper." That was the whole part of the convo. I realize I originally said 2, but I kinda lumped the college/party rapper in one sub-genre. But I totally feel you. He certainly doesn't come off as smart! Haha!

  • @daddyfatsaxohten then don't watch it. they're not trying to be some gurus and enlighten you to a better state of Hip Hop. they're just friends that talk about music. >no green text

  • @6969coprophagist6969 No they're getting compared because they're making the same genre music. 20 years ago white rappers sucked

  • >2012

    >race still considered important in music

I don't want to live on this planet anymore. Also, your videos are too long guys, especially since none of you have very much insightful to say. The conversation's entertaining, sure, but not for half an hour

  • one need look no further than Sandpeople for REAL lyrical Hip Hop. seriously, they blow a lot of rappers out of the water.

  • You should do asian and spanish rappers... oh wait there isn't any

  • @LeeBreaux

AZ, Fabolous, Joell Ortiz, Lloyd Banks, Nitty Scott, Tonedeff, Homeboy Sandman, Timeless Truth, Termanology, Immortal Technique, Fat Joe, Chino XL, The Beatnuts, Shaz Illyork, Q-Unique, Kool AD, Celph Titled, etc. are all Hispanic or part Hispanic...

  • @toneriggz I was talking about asian rappers. Said it wrong

  • @LeeBreaux

There are fewer Asian rappers than White, Black or Hispanic rappers but they're still out there...Geologic, Bambu, Rekstizzy, Dumbfoundead, Heems, Dap, Kiwi come to mind...You used to have Jin & Chan also but they've gone overseas to do music...

  • I'm half black and white!? Where do I go? Lol

  • Yeah white rappers are dominating undergound look what mac miller is doing

  • Damn... just realized the agenda right now with hip hop.... i mean of course I ALWAYS seen it but now it's beginning to be even more disheartening than ever before.

  • i dont judge i listen to hip hop and latin hip hop white black or latino

  • Lil whyte is not in the smart college category and he gets some buzz in his songs

  • action bronson.

  • Nice to know skin color matters in rap and hip-hop....

Does being gay or straight matter, too? Does missing a limb matter as well? What sex do I have to be in order to be the best?

  • @6969coprophagist6969 I think you're missing the point

  • @LeeBreaux

Your idol Kid Cudi is also half Mexican btw...

  • @toneriggz a quarter

  • @LeeBreaux

Isn't that spic's name Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi? hahaha

  • @LeeBreaux Really, cause I didn't know skin color had anything to do with making music. Why can't a white rapper just rap without being compared to a black rapper? Is it cause he's white? Is it cause someone of a different race likes that music?

    Oh no, he's black!He can't make METAL! Oh no, he's white!He can't make hip-hop!

  • I honestly think being white is a big disadvantage. The fact that once you become relevant you get compared to arguable the greatest of the all time. As far as record sells go obviously they have an advantage. We may dominate the mainstream but when you talk about mainstream your talking about lil wayne tyga and lil twist etc. those guys represent hip-hop for black folk and that scares me. People like Common should be the mainstream face of hip-hop. As far as indy goes Grieves is my fav.

  • "Fuck you mean people like us?!"

    Funniest shit ever!

  • I think Myke C-Town hit the nail on the head. I am white, and I definitely look into the character of a white mainstream rapper before I look into the music (AKA I'm leery). However, the underground scene is filled with white rappers, and the battle scene is dominated by them in some areas (KOTD and DF).

  • Good work guys

  • i thought mike was saying what ken thought mike was saying too....

  • Nice video as always guys!!! I'm actually a 16 year old white rapper from SC. Kinda sounds bad right haha. But I'm an advocate lyrical rap. More songs are gonna be coming soon, but for right now check out my channel. You might be surprised. Oh ya, and fuck Riff-Raff

  • Yea I definitely don't consider Asher Roth a party rapper aside from "I Love College" and a couple of his earlier songs. He's definitely raw.

  • white rappers are dope these days I like paul wall first album I didn't even know the guy wasn't black at first. Yelawolf, MGK, R.A. da rugged man white boys been going in for a min. I think some white rappers are fans an mimic other artist so they full length album sucks cause they don't have topics. Overall alot of white rappers are bettter MC's than blacks. Mac Miller cool he ain't nothing but a new beastie boy.

  • @MrKeepit2000 and to add another comment Asher Roth new joint is hot best I heard in a while from a young artist. I listen to alot of hood shit and I cosign it.

  • i remember young black teenagers supporting public enemy in london years ago they got boood off stage even all the whites was boooing em

  • Macklemore!

  • Comment removed

  • I'm white and I generally dismiss white rappers lol. I feel like their music has no substance to it or something, especially Mac Miller, MGK, and others of the sort. There are exceptions like Yelawolf, Eminem, and some 'underground' rappers though, I agree with that.

  • It's strange that Americans view the white and black thing. in the UK it doesn't matter at all what colour you are as long as you have skills

  • REAl SHIT KEEP IT UNDERGROUND! FUK MAC MILLER BY THE WAY .

  • Macklemore WINS . End of discussion

  • @rjdizinez Macklemore? You must be joking

  • @SharingMyKnowledge Nope. As a recovering addict i feel his music the most, is that alright with you ? I'm not trying to hear Wiz's fake ass 'I'm high laugh', how to cook crack or roll a blunt. I'd rather listen to music with meaningful lyrics that positively feeds my spirit. Good talk.

  • @deadendhiphop @ C-Town yelawolf had a grill in 07 but was still killing it like he does today...

  • Macklemore Macklemore Macklemore Macklemore Macklemore.

  • You guys should check out the Hood Rapper: DonDadda search his youtube hfisher352 this guy needs to be signed !

  • hip hop needs to stop worrying about race a worry about rick ross, lil b, v-nasty, kraeshawn, big sean, soulja boy, gucci mane and young money (not nicki, she can be dope at times).

i would put waka flocka but he is hilarious and gets me hype as shit...still suck tho

  • @ReallyFunnyIssh Agreed

  • @ReallyFunnyIssh man i totally agree what you said. I don't know kraeshawn though, i don't think i heard anything he did, but those others are wack as hell imo and you are right about wacka and nicki. Honesly i don't think nicki is trying anymore cause her fans follow her like she is a goddess who can do no wrong (stupid hoe and massive attack are total trash) and wacka can get you hype and his album actually wasn't bad for hype music but as an em cee dude is total trash.

  • i dont like Eminem and i only heard about 2 songs from him its not at all about the color of his skin i just didnt and dont like his music but im young and more of a party person so i love mac miller and yelawolf cause they are dope to asher rother and all of those folks. so yeah..

  • Still love the show! Half the time I don't know the artists you're talking about but I'm always entertained by the reviews, and afterwards I tend to browse youtube and discover some of the music you reviewed. Keep up the good work.

  • you guys should listen to Pabst & Jazz by Asher Roth

  • the whole colour thing is old know regarding hip-hop other than how a lot of up an coming rappers tend be hipster as fuck which pisses me off off EL-P and ILL-BILL are the only white rappers who i dont see that with

  • Asher Roth's new mixtape, Pabst & Jazz has no party songs. He's super lyrical on that. You guys should check it out.

  • Myke's got his finger on the pulse. He and I could talk up a storm. GODDAMN.

  • I want to see a Part 2 of this conversation because there is clearly some misunderstood arguments that were stated!

  • do a review on heartbreak3lo by fliiko l

  • Well to me it seems that Myke is saying White People are dominating Underground Hip Hop, because I've of the shows he's been to in his Area and that they have sold out, same for Black Underground Hip Hop back in Cali. I not even saying C-Town is "wrong" but maybe it is simply a regional thing.

  • @LamarTaylor2k12 yeah I think it's a regional thing too

  • @LamarTaylor2k12 Maybe it's a regional thing. But I've also been to indie shows in SC, NY and NJ. It seemed the same.

  • This is the fourth time reading these comments. Thank you everyone for expressing your opinions and being cool about it.

  • white rappers/hip hop fans, i just feel that they are in tune with their soul elements, hip hop culture is not black culture it is human culture.

  • @songflow What do you mean?

  • @songflow soul elements?

  • @songflow Uh oh...they're about to get you, man.

  • @songflow Hiphop is a part of African American culture just like Jazz, Gospel and Blues. . It will always be a part of African American culture. Just because it has become popular around the world doesn't stop it from being part of African American culture.

  • @Revolutionary36 - latinos have been at the start of hip hop with african americans if you look all the way back to the history of hip hop yea when people think of hip hop they think of african americans but hip hop is very injected in the roots of latinos till today kus i know latinos are making hip hop in the carribean and south america and in the states as well. and im not talking about that reggaeton shit but hip hop is very intuned with latinos

  • @latinomusic954 Hiphop is an African American invention. Latinos were there by default simply because they lived in the same proximity with African Americans when everything began to take off. But, Latinos were one of the first groups to start advancing the culture and the music before anyone else got a hold of it. But they are not the originators of the culture or the music if that is what you're trying to get at.

  • @Revolutionary36 - yea i mean they didnt originate the culture but they were there from the start and becuase of latinos in new york chicago hiphop is now apart of mexico down to south america and the islands of the carribean even hatians and jamaicans have there own form of rap and hip hop but yea african americans started it but latinos were there to spread out even more

you have your immortal technique , joell ortiz, lou armstrong, and everywere in the states rapping in both english and spani

  • @latinomusic954 - but i agree it is african american culture that gave birth to hip hop

  • How much of the Hip Hop Pie in terms of popularity and economics is made up by underground artists?

  • @PM2126 even if whites are dominating( I don't agree) underground its a smaller piece of the market. What would you rather have 70% of $500,000 or 90% of 5,000,000?

  • @PM2126 It's not a matter of what someone would rather have. I'm sure no one is even thinking of the white/black thing as a competition. It just seemed to appear that way. Which kinda sucks.

  • @mykectown I just used that as an example to show that popularity in a smaller field doesn't equate to equal popularity in another

  • @PM2126 Yes, I'm aware of what you were doing. But I didn't say they were equal playing fields. But I'm talking about the top players in mainstream and underground. Then comparing the race ratio.

  • @mykectown It's not a competition

  • @mykectown It's not a competition

  • awesome channel. i watched every single video.

@deadendhiphop btw., i'm curious what's your opinion on Mike Skinner a.k.a. The Streets? maybe he's not typical example of "white rapper".. but anyway..?

  • for me i dont care what colour your skin is if i like you i like you fuck sake my fave underground rapper and joint fave rapper ever has a METAL FACE he has no colour, but yeah vinnie paz apathy el-p slug R.A celph titled rjd2 necro rob sonic aesop rock there so many gd white ppl in hip hop now but i dont care they are white theres still black thought pack fm hopsin murs madlib theres a sean price for every ill bill theres a percee p for evey action bronson

  • I think Myke is saying dominating, and you guys are thinking "losing." I agree 100% with Myke, though. You got Grieves & Budo, Atmosphere, Macklemore, Cecil Otter, Lazerbeak, Paper Tiger, Sims, Can-U, Brother Ali (although he's technically albino) Toby from Inverse, Cage, R.A. Scion, Grinch, Braille, Move.ment, and more I won't bother mentioning. Mainstream, black people are on top, but with the underground considered, black people aren't dominating, and not just because of white rappers.

  • @misterfelder it's spelt Grynch unless you're talking about some other emcee named grinch that's not from seattle lol.

  • @jeremykao2 Yeah my bad man..lol. Damn this iPod.

  • I agree with @Mykectown though. I know of far more popular underground rappers that are white than black ones. But that's only because the black ones get the buzz, then sign with "rape me records"

  • @kalilkash973 wow never thought about it that way

  • @kalilkash973 Exactly! I think a lot of people look at indie hip hop as dudes who just haven't signed a deal YET. I look at indie hip hop as dudes who are underground and stay underground. I think there's a huge difference. A lot of black artists who start off in the underground sign a deal as soon as they get the offer. Not sure why yet.

  • This makes me wonder why indie black artists are so afraid to STAY indie. I mean look at Kendrick, isn't he going to sign to a major soon for his "first" album? Most white rappers with a buzz like Kendrick's wouldn't even waste their time with a major label. But you always see indie black artists with a buzz running to these major labels for a slave deal... I'll never understand it.

  • one word: EYEDEA

  • @edchigliak91 Shit, Eyedea is incredible.

  • @edchigliak91 U kno watsup

Thank you for spreading the word

  • @edchigliak91 RIP. One of the dopest to ever grace the underground.

  • Wiz is a 'black' rapper and he makes party music. Surprised No one brought that up. "Rolling Papers debuted at number two on the US Billboard 200 chart, with first-week sales of 197,000 copies in the United States." Sold more than 150,000 also.

Ten black rappers with buzz that are underground/Indie? All of TDE, Danny Brown, K.R.I.T., Gambino, Elzhi, Everyone in OF (besides tyler and frank ocean), tech n9ne, and hopsin.

    Adding artists :S

  • necro said himslef that being white was harder, he said you can't get booed or punk'd at a show because it's going to stay with you all your career.

  • @mafiaboy28 That was while he was coming up. He's got it a little easier now. Especially with his niche.

  • Should really have added @MisanthropikOne to this one

  • @PM2126 Damn, that's a good idea. We shoulda done that.

  • @mykectown

Why is that popular white underground artists don't breakthrough whereas black artists do?

  • @PM2126 I think the underground is generally more accepting to white artists than the mainstream. I think mainstream hip hop isn't really ready for the culture to be that mixed, because, to them, it's still a black art form that can be appreciated by all races, whereas I see it as an art form that was created by black people, but has been offered up to everyone and should be shared with everyone.

  • @mykectown But most of the mainstream (in terms of buying albums, seeing shows, merchandise, ect.) is white so why wouldn't a white artist be more accepted?

I'm black but I could care less what race or gender a person is in terms of hip hop or music or any art form for that matter, if you're good I'll give you a chance if not get out.

  • @PM2126 In the mainstream? I really don't know, man. I don't even have a theory.

  • @mykectown yeah

And I don't signing to a major and changing but being able to grow their niche market to more commercial success without "Selling Out"?

  • @PM2126 They don't want to.
