Chuck Liddell was a great fighter, but his camp ruined him. His trainer, Hackelmen, did not to listen to anybody. He was told to have Chuck hold his hands higher, kick more, takedown his opponent and strike a little bit, but his camp would not listen.
I may be incorrect, but if Chuck has all these people showing him ground techniques, why doesn't he ever use them? Why does he just try and knock people out, and get knocked out himself?
@Hekikahni you should watch chucks earlier fights when he was in pride. but you are right he is more of a striker and his background is in kempo karate, he has great ground defense and takedown defense. and it wasnt until later in his career he developed a glass chin. i believe he was a wrestler too in college if my memory is right. great fighter though.

For strikers, TKO is like a drug. They have to have it.

its true, krav maga is good training but its a self defense system, not a sport. i train in several styles, i do find alot of commando krav maga has some helpful techniques, mostly against hay makers and chokes.

i beg to differ, it may be actually possible for a mma fighter to beat a gorilla, depending on how the fight turned out, especially considering the gorilla wouldn't really punch much but the mma fighter would, and also using kicks, although the gorilla would probably take him to the floor which is where the headlock or the rear naked choke comes in.
Also a muay thai kick is just about as powerful as a car crash, so if he manages to get in a full on kick, the gorilla wont exactly be blocking.

Someone on here said that a gorilla can weigh upto 800lbs, although they are big, they are not quite that big. Upto 500lbs for a really big silver back. maybe.

Biggest Gorilla ever recorded was 650 pounds. So no, they can't weigh up to 800 lbs that's a bit redicilous lol. Finding 500 pound specimens are rare even. Fucking hunters have whiped the big boys out. They're such cool animals.

Not sure if he still practices Kyokushin, he trains in MMA and trains other fighters.
Bas started out practicing Taekwondo, is 2nd degree black belt, then fought professionally in muay thai, was 14-1.
Search You tube for Bas Rutten fight science. National Geographic made a very interesting min-series about martial arts. I think you would enjoy it.

its true, krav maga is good training but its a self defense system, not a sport. i train in several styles, i do find alot of commando krav maga has some helpful techniques, mostly against hay makers and chokes.

Even today, a skilled knife fighter with a 12" saw blade would stand more than a fair chance against your distant cousin, the gorilla and knives have been around a very long time.

i beg to differ, it may be actually possible for a mma fighter to beat a gorilla, depending on how the fight turned out, especially considering the gorilla wouldn't really punch much but the mma fighter would, and also using kicks, although the gorilla would probably take him to the floor which is where the headlock or the rear naked choke comes in.
Also a muay thai kick is just about as powerful as a car crash, so if he manages to get in a full on kick, the gorilla wont exactly be blocking.

I like the movement in the YouTube clip that Bas uses when the attacker puts a full nelson on him, to push up his own forehead with his hands to relieve pressure and straighten up the back to force the attacker's back to straighten up too far back, making the attacker reflexively bend forward to prevent backward fall, then Bas quickly bends forward and down to step off to the side, cup the back of attacker's knees, lift them, and elbow attacker as he falls.

Bruce Lee was a street fighter and an MMA fighter(and one HELL of a dancer).He would still be one of the fittest around today.
I dunno how he would do against BBJ(Man-LEE VS(INSERT)GRACIE would be something).

have you seen his demo's? if you blink you literally miss his kick... and his 1 inch punch knocked a trained martial artist off his feet.. im not saying he could kick ass in a cage. he was a warrior, to fight a man heavier than him he would have to use techniques not able to use in the cage. but put him in a cage with other people of his weight class.. i believe he would kick ass.

In addition to the fact that Bruce Lee was one of the fastest fighters ever, and packed a punch nearly as strong as Tyson's (1550 kg vs 1660 kg), there's also the fact that Lee was versatile and trained to kill. He had knowledge of how to launch a well aimed chop or punch that could break bones and rupture nerve endings, whereas your Fedors and Liddels are only trained to grapple and takedown.
