actually the labour cost in the price of a truck is only 7 percent compared to 28% 20 years ago You would be surprised the amount of people there on the line with an education. IF the guy that was bitching about making minimum wage with his degree worked there hed be happy. sound like jealousy to me. The main fault here is government. Oh GM cant ship products to Asian and European countries but they can ship endless amount here and saturate us with their crap. .

You can not continue to pay people with high school educations $30+ an hour and still stay competitive in a globalization type environment. Governments should have focused on attracting new, diverse investment into this area but in the end, to a large degree, they just fell back on the comforting thought that GM would always be there to provide jobs and tax revenue.

I think we both agree that governments (on all levels) have failed the people of this community.

As for the rest. GM is not in business to live up to agreements signed with the CAW. GM is in business for one reason only, to make as much money as possible.

As far as ALL of the workers in the GM truck plant not having a college education, I never said that! Some do, but the majority do not. I challenge anyone to provide stats that prove otherwise.
