Imo, bashing Vortex and Mustis and saying they do not matter is rather silly. They clearly added to the band. Vortex's vocals were a welcomed addition to the band, and Mustis was a superb synth, keyboard and piano player. Abrahadabra is a good album, and I like most other Dimmu albums, but I definitely feel the absence of Vortex and Mustis and feel Abrahadabra would have been even stronger with them. Maybe one day they all can reconcile, but as is Dimmu as a 3 piece band feels a bit... thin.
Vortex was an awesome singer and I loved his voice on Progenies but the thing is that with Abrahadabra, the band kinda went more death metal than symphonic black metal....which is okay I guess but not as great as the other albums like Death Cult Armaggedon.
Wrong - Dimmu Borgir are not the same without Vortex & Mustis - Dimmi suck now as the last album proved. The Vortex solo album is great. Sorry Shaggyrath - the end is near for your band.
@thesharft I am not so down on the newer look Dimmu than I was - Abrahadabra (fucking awful album title) has its great moments. ICS Vortex did a solo album so he really wasn't looking to sound like Dimmu. I respect your opinion, but I think Mr. Vortex did a good job with his talents on 'Storm Seeker.'

There are bands that usually do great records....but their musicians hardly do the same performance live! I personally took at some shop the last 2 dimmu borgir records (because are well made) i have to say that live they have the same impact .

They came to holland in 2010, yeah, but I didn't go to see them because they came with Korn and Korn sucks so much balls. It's highschool metal.

@spidarz Correction, he got kicked out cause he was greedy. He sold merchandise in dimmu's name but only signed it himself and kept the profit. they all found out, tackled him about it and he packed up and left.

@moremoxi Oh, it was some form of sheer paradise. All my bones, and muscles are still tingling from it. Shagrath is so unbelievably beautiful. I just won't listen, anymore, if I hear anyone putting them down. I've done it before, myself, said they were too commercial, or whatever, (because, I compared them too much with Fimbulwinter). It's just not true, once you get past the facade of their mainstream videos. They are phenomenal, live!! Love these guys.
